It was an absolute pleasure staying at the Appart Hotel Clement Adler…read more From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by a wonderful staff, which was exactly what we needed after a long drive from Barcelona! The hotel near the train station was easy to find, and there were plenty of space for parking. The interior of the hotel and the room were tastefully decorated and very comfortable, and as requested, we were given a room on a higher floor with a beautiful view. The room also had a lovely balcony where we were able to have breakfast in the morning. Without a doubt, the most notable part of our stay was the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay special. We will definitely stay at Clement Ader again when we return to Toulouse.

I had to travel to Toulouse for a week long business trip and decide to bring my girlfriend with…read moreme. I didn't want her to be trapped in a stale boring airport hotel for the entire week so I searched around various websites looking for a comfortable hotel located in a central Toulouse location. I've never been to Toulouse before and took a chance booking a room at Clement Ader. It was a decision that paid off. First, the hotel is located conveniently in the center of Toulouse just a couple of blocks from a major train station. Transportation to the hotel from the airport was convenient by taxi (although for the rest of the trip I used Uber.) The staff of the hotel was incredibly pleasant and accommodating. Their English was outstanding and they never made me feel uncomfortable that I'm not conversant in French. (This was important to me because 20 years ago when I visited Paris I was made to feel the fool for not knowing the language.). The hotel is located inside of a courtyard area in the middle of the block meaning that you don't hear the street noise at all. A comfortable lounge area is available in the lobby and there is an adjacent dining area (for breakfast.) The room are actually apartments with a full kitchen area, stove, sink, dishwasher, etc. We never made our own meals in the room but it was nice to have the convenience and I can imagine if we were staying more than a week, we would have. However, there are so many outstanding restaurants within a few blocks radius of the hotel, we just never wanted to eat in the room! One downside when you check in is that you get a lengthy printed document with a checklist of the entire facilities and you are requested to fill out a report within the first 24 hours of your stay if you find anything missing or amiss. I've never had to do this before in a hotel room stay anywhere in the world and it's an unreasonable burden on the guest. I don't want to spend my time inspecting the room for defects and counting how many plates are in the cupboard. That is the hotel staff's responsibility. However, I simply ignored the document. We did have a problem with a water leak that occurred because the seal in the shower was worn and the staff fixed that promptly. Our room had a balcony which faced into the courtyard so we could get some fresh air. That was nice. There were plenty of electrical outlets and nicely placed nooks next to each side of the bed so I could put my phone, books, watch, etc right where I could reach them. TV was large and modern and there was ample desk space for working as needed. Also plenty of room for our clothes! We did take advantage of the breakfast (tip if you commit to getting their breakfast ahead of time at check-in you will pay less) and it was worth the cost but I observed that they made a limited amount of the items and the meats tended to run out extremely early. For example, I had breakfast at 7:30am and there were a number of items that weren't replenished. Maybe 7:30am is late for breakfast in Toulouse? Don't know. Anyway, I would recommend that if you are a late sleeper, you don't get the hotel breakfast and instead venture out to one of the many nearby places - even just across the street! Also across the street is an interesting find - an Escape Room! We didn't go in because it was entirely in French but I was tempted to anyway. It definitely looked cool. Also in walking distance are a number of restaurants that ranged from ok to outstanding. I'll be writing some additional reviews on those as I have time. The price for our room was quite affordable considering we were in the heart of the city. Certainly a heck of a lot cheaper than staying in a major city like SF or NYC - average price was about 150-160 euros per night. This included free wifi which was quite performant despite our having 6 devices on it. :) Overall, an outstanding boutique apartment hotel and highly recommended. There are other Privilege brand properties in the area (one which is just a couple of blocks away) and I'd probably try one of those for variety if I come back to Toulouse again. 4 stars Pros - great room, great staff, great value, outstanding location Cons - burdensome checklist, breakfast replenishment issues, room maintenance required
