We were wandering around the enchanting medieval old town of Sarlat la Caneda looking for dinner…read more This place is one of the places that were recommended by our B&B, but its price is also significantly higher. The other places nearby offer set dinners for €10-20, but this place goes from €27-49. Under the dreamy charm of the little town, we decide we can splurge a bit and enjoy some fine French dining.
The first server, on realizing that we speak very little French, passed us on to another server who turns out be from South America! He did his best to explain the menu. It features highly the regional favorites of duck and truffle, but also has a new spin, such as cooking duck in earl grey tea leaves and serving scallop with enoki mushrooms.
It's well worth the splurge, we enjoyed our food so much, especially the scallop and duck.
