The food was great. Not exceptional, but the best we've had in the city thus far. The service was snobby, however. And after finding a long, black curly hair in our food and then politely pointing it out at the end of the meal, the waitstaff and management made no apologies nor offered any consolations for this disappointment.
We had oysters, seafood lasagna and a foie gras burger. All was delicious but toward the end of the meal my boyfriend found a long hair in his burger patty. When a staff member came to collect our plates, I quietly pointed out the long hair that we unfortunately found in our food. She quickly walked away and then four of the staff, including our waitress and the owner, stood over the plate with the hair discussing it for a minute or two. Then no mention of it again to us. No apology from the owner/manager who was there (I recognized him from his picture is in the yelp photos). Rien. Nada.
The food was delicious, but for the prices I'd expect better service and hair-free food. I also speak French fluently and communicated everything in French, so it wasn't a problem of a language gap.
Despite the snobby waitress, we could have left very pleased with our meals had they not neglected to acknowledge or apologize for their error of hygiene in the kitchen. Instead we left feeling disgusted and not ever wanting to return. read more
