Amazing stay here! This hotel is gorgeous!!!!! I love every detail. Fantastic city views and lots of wonderful amenities. The pool is lovely and has a wonderful terrace area as well. There is a theater in the hotel, offering shows throughout the week. Restaurants available too with indoor and outdoor seating. The customer service is excellent, and the staff really goes above and beyond. Marion works at the front desk and she helped me with logistics as my flight was cancelled and I missed the first night of my stay. She was very kind and worked very hard to get the first night refunded through the third party I had booked with (Expedia). Francine is the concierge and she is fabulous too. I spoke with her on the phone and she answered many questions for me, and she booked a car to pick me up from the airport. This was a trip for my best friend's birthday, and Francine and Marion arranged for lovely tray of cookies to be waiting in our room and a sweet card for my friend. Wonderful and easy location. So easy to walk everywhere and get around. Our room was so pretty and modern, and very spacious! We had a seating area by the windows where we could enjoy our coffee. Coffee pot, wine glasses, refrigerator, safe, robes and more. Lots of storage areas too, and a desk if you need to work. The bathroom was very large too! Spacious walk in shower with glass doors. I feel so lucky that I got to stay here!!

We stayed here for 3 nights before boarding a cruise ship. This is a boutique hotel with 50 rooms and 2 very nice restaurants. The staff is friendly and professional. It is very clean and decor is updated. It is walking distance to many things. We would stay there again.

Spent a night at the hotel for my wife's birthday. The hotel seems newly renovated because it smelled that way in the room. Unfortunately I could not say I enjoyed the stay. As I mentioned, the smell of renovation bothered me a little. The room is small, good thing I didn't have any large luggage, otherwise I wouldn't know where to put it. They have a large window with a view of Vieux-Québec mais malheureusement, there isn't much to see and that large windows has some knocking noice all night long... As if someone is throwing out rocks to it - all night long, we couldn't sleep well because of it. Enough about the negative stuff, let's give them credits where it's due. Peoples. Yes, they are very polite, very professional, from the valet to the receptionist and even the cleaner. Super polite and nice, it's great to be greeted sincerely every now and then! Location. When I got there, I aaked the valet to keep the car outside as I might need it later... Well I ended up not needing it at all. Everything is walking distance. Dispite the cold weather, we managed to walk to the restaurant "Le Continental, my review is also up for this epic restaurant", then we walked to Château Frontenac, all within 10 minutes walking distance. During the day, there are plenty of bistros, bars and stores right around the corner. You'll love the location if you are there to explore!

We booked this hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary. Turned out to be a great facility in a great location, just outside one of the gates to the Old City. Staff is very friendly, helpful, professional. Will definitely stay here again.

Don't be confused and turn away from Le Capitale because you think it is a theater instead of your hotel. This turn of the century theater has been converted into a hotel in one of the most interesting remodeling jobs. There is still a theater as well as a restaurant on the ground, but back behind the front desk is the hotel. The rooms are really unique, two floors with the living room and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom up in a loft. They are by no means huge, but are very homey and comfortable. The bathroom is very quaint with a clawfoot tub. The wifi is also super fast. The location is great, a quick walk through the old city walls into the historical district. It's a small town, so from the hotel you can pretty much get anywhere within about 15 minutes. Parking is valet only, but they are pretty quick to retrieve for you.

Booked our room at The El Capitole Hotel in Quebec City as their theater was hosting Melissa Etheridge in concert last week. Perfect. Hotel and venue plus bar and restaurant on site as well. I became a little concerned when checking in at the very tiny lobby. It was almost charming with its theater seats and red decor but it didn't quite "pop" in person as much as in the online photos. Hate when that happens. I would suggest to hotel management that the lobby does indeed need some sparkle and shine (and probably a little elbow grease from the cleaning staff) I found the tiny elevator very Euro- lift accurate and reliable. Bigger is not always better ;) Felt like our own private small lift that handled carry on luggage and its owners very comfortably. We never waited more than a few seconds for it and the hotel was sold out. (Noticed a few complaints about the lift online but no problem for us.) Room for improvement lies in making ones way to the lift from the front desk (2 ft ) and sharing that space with the bell staff who was visibly frustrated as he attempted to handle guest luggage. I would be remiss if I did not mention the front desk staff offer to store our luggage and take to our room at 4pm. This gave us the opportunity to head out around town early. We appreciated it very much although our bags, no doubt, added to the volume/small storage space war. Oh, boy. Upon entering our room, I immediately felt reassured that I made the right choice by booking at the El Capitole. I'm a germaphobe and probably a pain in the arse to some, but I inspect - disinfect TV remote ASAP, phone, door knobs, & bring my own seat covers and internet ordered travel disinfecting spray and while I used it all, i would have been almost okay without it. Clean, clean, clean! Bathroom was squeaky clean, bedding passed the "pube check" plus a marshmallow fluff comforter that was vibrant white and fresh smelling. The room was small but not tight, complimentary two bottles of water per day, mini fridge with all the goodies plus a little room inside for your own chilling needs, a Keurig coffee w/several different pod choices. Beautiful, deep shower/tub (wish I could take a bath in a hotel tub but I'm not there yet) with great water pressure and as much hot water as you'd like. Only thing I would suggest is to remove straight shower curtain with a roll out - as not to touch ones body. Yuck. Gross. Friendly staff at front desk. I always tip housekeeping daily, the gentleman that cleaned our room stopped by the next day to say thanks. No, thank you! Enjoyed their El Capitole Theater - front row table and Stella Artois that flowed nicely from our server and dynamicaly delicious calamari that was out of this world! Great service by staff! The young man who was our server took me by the hand and walked me upstairs when I inquired where the ladies room was. So sweet. We had dinner and dessert after the show at the Italian restaurant at the El Capitole - Ristorante Il Teatro. Beautiful atmosphere with the most friendly young people serving and Rue Saint-Jean vibe is lovely! Amazing wine list! Try the tomato bisque soup! The location of this hotel is in the heart of Quebec City. Right around the corner from shops, bakeries, restaurants, Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec! Lovely stay in a beautiful city! Merci beaucoup

The Chateau is an architectural gem. It is well worth your time to walk around the perimeter of this gorgeous building -- you won't be bored. The tour guide explained that the Chateau is a 5 Star hotel and everything must be perfect. Once inside, I saw chandeliers and window ledges caked with white dust. The "grand ballroom" reminded me of my high school all purpose room. We were warned not to touch anything because the grand ballroom was being prepared for an Easter Brunch. Two of the tablecloths covering the round guest tables had strange, yellow spots on them. If I return to Quebec in the future, I will stay at the Hilton which has a fabulous buffet breakfast that is reasonably priced and an equally fabulous view looking down on the Chateau and the old city.

The only minor complaint we had was that we arrived late and the bar was closed. We were a little hungry so the front desk receptionist offered us some snacks from the mini bar. We should have realized these snacks would be mini bar pricing even though he handed them to us from the reception desk. $26 of chips and pretzels showed up on the bill! Our mistake. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again though. The bed was comfortable. The shower great too. And the service was very friendly.

The staff was friendly and courteous. What really impressed us was that they were able to lend us an AC adapter compatible with my wife's breast pump (forgot to bring) that's not even sold in Canada. This is a 125 hotel all day long except for its 15 minutes walking distance to the Frontenac Hotel which is about the same price right now. Don't get me wrong everything is insanely overpriced around here. This is Manhattan pricing. I think the whole thing is completely not worth it. The Frontenac is beautiful on the outside, but there's nothing really going on the inside and it's just surrounded by overpriced, mostly lousy, tourist trap restaurants. I would spend a day here that's it there's not much else to do if you are active. Overall, I'm very disappointed at the hotel and the area in my opinion was a complete rip off. The area was nice by the Frontenac, but all of the tourist trap restaurants and T-shirt and sweatshirt gift shops just ruined it for me. Decent walking if you are into hilly areas, pretty to see once but more of a one and done after a day. All of the videos I watched on this place and the area I feel deceived. It was not that interesting at all and not worth it in my opinion. I'm bummed out it was a waste of a lot of money and a lot of time getting there for a crappy hotel and a lot of bad food and average coffee at unfriendly coffee shops. By the way this hotel has no lobby coffee, no water or snacks whatsoever. Some nights are 500 even $600 a night here. As much as I hate Holiday Inn expresses they are far better than this hotel. This is just a basic no frills place and you can't even adjust the room thermostat. Apparently it's controlled by management so you have limited access if at all some evenings it was shut off completely. This should be illegal at this price range. Again you need your head examined if you pay this price here. I only did because I was deceived by overhyped reviews. A lot of hotels in area are same price but from the little I saw of them they appeared to have a more luxury vibe compared to this low end b&b type vibe here. Oh and by the way, they gave me parking passes for a lot across the street. I displayed all of them in my windshield and I was still given a ticket by a cop in this parking lot that was $92 found on my windshield. If I say I'll never be coming back it would be too soon.
