When we arrived we were surprised by the long line and packed tables - clearly we weren't the first to discover such a gem (but the line moved quickly)! We had crispy fried spring rolls, bo luc lac (shaking beef), and beef pho (noodle soup) paired with two ice cold Singha beers. We finished off the meal with a delicious Vietnamese sesame cake and a Vietnamese iced coffee. At the end of our meal, the wonderful owner told us with pride that she had been in business with her husband running the restaurant for 21 years!!! She showed us her profile from a local Marseilles magazine and also told us that the restaurant was featured in a NYT travel article (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/08/travel/lyon-marseille.html). I love supporting amazing immigrant-run small businesses and was so happy to see the success of Nguyen-Hoang in the beautiful city of Marseilles. Highly recommend! Bon appetit!
