We are a proud Lawrence Township family. There's no place I'd rather have my kids attend.

In the situation, he throws the girl on the ground(very skinny and can't be over the age of 13 and he's a big-boned middle-aged man) and pushes her then proceeds to put his knee in her back me my sister and friend start yelling at him about how that's illegal to arrest a minor without notifying the parent and can only be detained bus driver tells us we're overreacting kids who are black(like us) might I add side with him try to high five he make fun of record her degrade her and everything anyways she politely asked someone to get her bookbag whilst trying to hold back her tears my sister hands her the bag and he slams her again so like I said very unprofessional cannot wait for this school to close down it's only a matter of time

Eastwood Middle School lets children have the opportunity to do sports, join musicals, and even be in musical classes. This school also provides college help classes such as preparing for college and career(PCC), AVID, and Jag. All these classes are high-school credits as well so just there there are many options for your student to get the best start to their future. After testing into four Honors classes, my youngest struggled with the transition and all of the homework, but her teachers were interested in finding the best solution for her success. Trying to fit in cross country practice and doing homework well past her bedtime, we decided to drop two of the classes, which has allowed her to learn at a better pace and have a social life. While FINO is available to assist students in getting their classwork done, I'd like to see a study hall or homework assistance plan without a 'stigma'. Many parents that I know punish their kids for getting it, I appreciate the variety of classes and extra-curricular activities offered. My daughter has enjoyed Cross Country, French, choir and playing the flute for the first time this year and is looking forward to participating in more athletics. There are a lot of parents involved in activities and it they seem very encouraging and supportive, which I appreciate, as a single working parent. I like to see that my daughter is happy and proud of what she's learning when she shares her day with me.

Well I figured I should give my alma mater some love. I attended BCHC from 1996-2000, My experience…read morethere was very unique. My freshman year I was immediately drawn to the internally produced TV show. I got in and was mentored by a junior at the time who was a part of the original tv crew (it had just started a year or two before me). I soon took over co-producing the show and after my mentor left I was the producer and editor of the show. I also ran all of the AV for the liturgies, pep rallies and DJ'd most of the dances with my two best friends. Why am I telling you this? By the time I was a Junior I had a job working for Markey's AV. I started my career in Technology when I was 15 because the opportunities at Chatard. My story is unique for sure but the staff at Chatard supported me and helped me grow as a young man. On other notes not related to my career. I was and am not Catholic. Even though it is required to take a religion class every year I was not pressured in any way to take on their beliefs. I treated it as a history class. What was so amazing was that the Senior religion class was world religions. I always thought this was such an amazing things for them to do. And if you were a student there from the late 70's to the mid 2000's you had Mr. Powell as your teacher. I bet there are 1,000's of adults that when asked who is the one teacher that left a mark on you would say Mr. Powell. He was definitely mine. * The main reason my parents chose Chatard was their English program for kids with learning disabilities. I was diagnosed with ADD at a young age in the 80's. This program and the absolutely amazing teachers supported learning techniques for students with these issues. We were in our own small 6 student classroom for 2 periods of the day instead of being in the general English class. After 2 years of this program I was able to return back to the regular class. I will never forget how much that helped me in my learning through my entire life. Over the years I came back and volunteered time teaching students in the TV show program, photography in art class. I have donated art for the auctions and more. Why because I love this school. I could go on and on for ever about my experiences here. I will always be a Trojan!! And if any staff read this, I am always willing and able to volunteer. I have spent the past 22 years in the advanced technologies and engineering, photography and videography.

Awesome school would recommend to others. Made lots of…read morefriends such as Ethan R. School lunch fye!

Like any school, it's…read morenot perfect, and you won't agree with every decision, but what stands out is the environment they've created for students to truly grow. The smaller class sizes have made a huge difference for our children. Their teachers genuinely see them for who they are, not just academically but as individuals. There's a strong balance of accountability and encouragement. Students are challenged to do their best while also being supported and known. What sets this community apart is the faith-centered foundation. During a major life event for our family, our kids weren't just supported, they were surrounded by a community that consistently prayed over them and walked alongside us in a very real way. That kind of care goes beyond the classroom. What matters most to us is that my kids are thriving. They feel valued, they're growing in confidence, and they're being poured into by teachers who care deeply. That kind of environment is hard to find, and we're grateful to be part of it.

My first week there was a "random" drug test and Phil Nikirk (the high school principle at the time) watched as me and another student took a piss sample in the restroom. I'd say it took 5 minutes for me to actually go, it felt like this guy was breathing down my neck. Not only did I feel violated, the harassment continued throughout the year from all high school teachers. I'd get weird looks, and felt as though they wanted to burn me at the stake. This was partly because the school had driven me to a manic episode that pretty much ruined my senior year. Although I had to take a leap year, I still managed to play lacrosse at the same college I had committed to. The high school staff managed to create two semesters of suffering, at an apparently "good-willed" school. Lets not forget the prison-like exterior, it gives me the chills. Funny thing is that this school managed to convert me to a huge believer in faith when I left for college. You would be saving yourself lots of money by not coming to this school! As well as your child's sanity!

I give it an average star rating because these days is just a costly version of any typical, yet capable public school with the addition of arrogance in their approach.

All three of our children attended The Orchard School. We are very pleased with the education they…read morereceived and so are they. I've often tried to sift through all our years and determine what they most learned/received at Orchard and if I had to pick one attribute (and there are many), I'd pick confidence. They are all confident public speakers. For example, when my daughter was a junior in high school, she won an award that required her to speak at a dinner with over 400 people present. I tried several times to get her to practice and review her speech in advance, knowing that the previous recipient had a professional speech writer. In frustration, one evening she said, "Mom, I went to Orchard. Don't worry." She delivered a flawless speech without notes. They are all confident about their ability to learn. Orchard likes to say they help create lifelong learners and they do. Each of our children knows how to learn and they like to learn. They are all confident expressing themselves to anyone. In high school, their teachers observed that unlike many shy teens they were not afraid to ask questions and advocate for themselves or for others. And, this has continued throughout their college and post-graduate years. Orchard invites and teaches children how to respectfully approach adults. At Orchard, education is not just about science, English, history, etc. While these are important, it's also about helping develop good people and preparing them for the future.
