There are so many things I could list here but I'll try and narrow it down. I was arrested 8/2026…read morefor dui, possession, transport of etoh and endangerment of child. Very serous charges, especially given my career in the health field. I called Josh who made it sound like this would be nothing and that I had advantages to my case (I was parked on private property and sleeping in the back seat) that would help to get this dropped down to possibly 'reckless driving.' Big talk that sold me immediately so naturally I hired him for $7500. Appearances Started in October then November then it was 'waiting on discovery' but will be done in December. Then a lie that maybe not December but definitely January then there was "no court reporter" a lie as i was in regular contact with my probation officer there who told me court was as planned that day and no such thing. During this time I was impatiently waiting to wrap this up as I was stuck in an abusive relationship but was literally waiting for the end as he kept promising it was coming in December then January then February (you get the picture) he literally blocked my number and honestly I didn't bug him much at all. He stated back in November that he had spoke to the DA and the deal was looking good for a 'moving violation'! Well when I asked what it was crickets and didn't get an update at all. Every month a court appointment and he'd just continue and I'd get no real update, still was waiting to hear that deal. After months of waiting I went in person in February or March (lived 2 hours away) just to try and get some information out of him since he was sending someone else to my appearances. Then there's a plea then not. Then there's turnover in the prosecutors office. Then it's spring and continuance after continuance until I again go in person. Then another deal and continuance. Well nearly August(year later) that got wrapped up. The deal was a decent deal. The dui stuck and others dismissed. They had written it up incorrectly where it stated 'guilty' and the judge agreed to changing the wording, appears that wasn't followed through though. Josh was supposed to send me a couple different explanations that he already had ready for me to give to my board for explanation of my charge, he never did. I finished my DUI classes and they send him (& I) the certificate of completion where he turns it in to the court, appears he did not. He also promised for $500 he'd file to expunge the 3 arrests/charges that were dismissed, he "marked it in his calendar" for a month out to do so. He did not. Not only did he not but after consulting with a new attorney it looks like is not even possible to do so as all charges weather dismissed or not were under the same arrest and all need to be not only completed but eligible to be expunged. The DUI is not eligible therefore none of them are. Al of this to say that is you want a lawyer that keeps you in the dark, that lies more than normal lawyers lie and that don't keep their word-then this is the guy for you. I'd of rather of went with the retired judge that practices as she promised to send every single document sent/received and keep me in the loop pertaining to my case or Parrish. This was an extremely stressful time in my life and a little more honesty and communication would've gone a long way.

I was very specific about my needs and she totally disregarded them and did what she wanted and if I would have stayed with her I would still have 2 more years to wait to get on a court docket. I called Brown and Crouppen because of previous experience with them on a bankruptcy case, which they handled with tact and dignity. I was kept informed by Brenda and Shelly every step of the way, I was never made to feel like an inconvenience, or a burden. I live in pain every day of my life and this situation is not one that I would wish on anyone. And before I went to Brown and Crouppen the only insurance I could get was from Obamacare, don't even get me started on that. It was useless so I couldn't get the help I needed. Brown and Crouppen took my case, that the other attorney had for 4 years and in a little over a year, won my case, got my back pay and my Medicare was retro dated to 6 months before my disability even started to help out with my gargantuan medical bills. I can't say enough about Briuwn and Crouppen, specifically Shelly, Brenda and Robert Simmons, except to say, I LOVE MY LAWYER!!! Thankyou all so much for what you did for me, I can never thank them enough!!! God Bless
