Gorgeous, relaxing, peaceful place. We've been there twice so far, a dinner and then a jazz event. The owners are sweet passionate farmers, Dave and Diane. They are friendly warm hearted people that really care about what they, their products and people. I am hoping to have an event there one day as the smell of lavender will uplift and give you tranquility. The mountain views are beautiful and cows next door are adorable. Enjoy the fragrant field and spend some time picking lavender. You can walk around the labyrinth and snip away. It's a gorgeous property. If picking isn't for you, there are lots of items for sale in the shed on the premises. There is lavender honey, maple syrup, satchels and culinary lavender. The staff is knowledgable and will answer all of your questions and provide suggestions. In addition, you can find Lavenlair items at the Troy's Farmers Market on Saturdays. The tours happen every hour on the hour. It's on my list for the return trip. read more

Lavenlair Farm is a gorgeous lavender farm owned and run by two of the nicest people you could meet. They run tours of the farm on the hour ($10/person) and we spent a lovely hour with one of the owners walking the lavender fields, learning about the different types of lavender and how they are used, and how the farm operates. We got to visit the barn where the harvested lavender is drying, saw the still they use to make essential oils, and peeked into the remnants of the old school house on the property (now used for storage). The tour is well worth it and I'm so glad we did it! There is an option to pick your own lavender and the farm provides everything you'll need, though we didn't do that this trip. Instead, we spent a LOT of money in the shop, run by the other owner. One of the cool things about the shop is that you're able to sample pretty much everything they have for sale, from lavender infused maple syrup to lavender cookies to honey made on site. Even cooler is that there are some comparisons available - such a a chemical-y Yankee Candle in lavender scent to compare to one of their own candles, or store bought honey versus their own. Prices are a little steep, but they are well worth it and it felt nice to support a small business.
