Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront is one of my favorite events of the year! And Louisville…read morehas some amazing events. But, this event imparticular is one of my favorite parts of the Kentucky Derby Festival. It's so much fun to go down to the waterfront and experience all that Fest-a-Ville has to offer. Not only is the setting beautiful, since you're on the river, but the food and entertainment are spectacular! This event includes tons of amazing fair food. Lots of food truck vendors come in and set up to offer everything from corndogs, burgers, pretzels, funnel cake, pizza, fried desserts, beverages (both alcoholic and not), and so much more! I seriously cannot list it all here. And it's all delicious! There's also lots of public art to take in. They have areas of the event set up with visual and interactive art, and there are also sometimes performers. Plus there are some really unique things to see - like the hot air balloon glimmer, which is an included event where they fill a field with hot air balloons and inflate and light them. It's beautiful! This event is amazing every year! I highly recommend checking it out! I'll definitely be there every year!

One of my can't miss events is the balloon glimmer that takes place on the waterfront. We lucked out this year with pretty much perfect weather. The Fest-a-Ville is pretty much the same every year. You are going to spend money on fair food. Food, drinks and rides are tickets only so bring cash to exchange for tickets. Ride tickets are separate from food/drink tickets so if you have little ones - be prepared for that. Tickets are non-refundable so we put all of ours together at the end of the night so that we didn't leave with any. We walked around for a bit, trying to decide what deliciousness we needed to eat. After getting some food and a drink, we walked around looking at all the balloons. There is a huge selection of food items to choose from. The cookies'n'creme funnel cake is one that shouldn't be missed. The cherry limeade was pretty delicious as well. There are a lot of free concerts and events that take place here. Most just require a Pegasus Pin. It's like the state fair - the people watching is fantastic but if you aren't careful, you could easily spend A LOT of money!

The mural is located on the rear of an exterior commercial building whom parking lot features a large variety of food trucks. So the food at the table theme might have something to do with that. I love the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop. I'm a big fan of free fun events around Louisville, and the…read moreF.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop is definitely one of them. The last Friday of every month you can ride the trolleys up and down Frankfort Avenue (F.A.T. stands for Frankfort Avenue Trolley) and check out all the local businesses the street boasts. There are so many amazing shops and restaurants in that area, and most of them run specials during the trolley hop. The most recent F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop event was at the end of September and was sponsored by Maker's Mark. Yelp was there to help too, giving out red wigs to all and awesome Yelp and Maker's swag to those who checked in to the event. It was an awesome night! Of course, the trolley hop is different each month, and doesn't always have a sponsor like the most recent event, but it's always a great time! And, if the Maker's Mark sponsored trolley hop does sound like it's right up your alley, make sure to check it out next year (it's an annual event). I highly recommend checking out the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop if you haven't been before, and if you've been in the past and haven't gone for a while you should get back out there! Trust me, it's a fun time!

From what I can gather the bakery use tone bay this location but isn't anymore so this is Homage to that. The use of dark colors gives it almost an old school industrial look. There a lot happening in this mural and it is fairly large. Overall pretty cool mural to the area that appears to pay homage to some history of that neighborhood.

It is a giant stainless steel flower; petals, stem and leaves all fabricated from stainless steel. It is a unique design, exclusive only to Shelby County. There at least one other design by Ben Bridwell on Washington Street - check out the Picture Frame.
