Highly recommend! We worked with Chance Badertscher as our real estate attorney on a recent sale. He was: 1. Super competent. 2. Very responsive. 3. Easy to work with. 4. Always prepared. 5. Made everything EASY! I've worked on both sides of several real estate transactions with several different real estate attorneys over the years and can easily say Chance at Lavelle Law was one of the best I've worked with. I'd recommend him highly to anyone. read more

I tried to use them back around 2018. The attorney assigned my account was inexperienced, a very poor communicator, and she had a bit of an attitude. Although I got nothing out of our interaction, I did get a $4000ish bill. I did not pay it. I suggest you avoid this firm. I kind of agree with other reviews: They're overpriced for a small firm, and they're not particularly effective. I think they think that their mission is simply to bill and make money rather than helping folks resolve their problems. read more

take your $. they overbill, call you on the same things over & over then triple charge you and sit on it & do nothin.

If you want good communication look elsewhere... If you want clarity in the process look elsewhere... If you don't want surprise late bills look elsewhere... I was representing my condo's HOA and just needed a lawyer to look at the condo by-laws to see if everything looked good for another owner who wanted to buy part of the basement to build a duplex down. - I paid $1000 on April 19, sent the by-laws - I reached out on May 4th because I hadn't heard back. - May 6th I got a reply asking if I had sent the by-laws then got a reply that they had seen it [assuming this is when they started to do the work] - I reached out on June 5th because I hadn't heard back. - June 5th I got a reply that I'd hear back at the end of the week at the latest - I reached out on June 18th because I hadn't heard back - June 18th got an email reply back of 4 bullet points... [ really is this what I paid for???] -- this wasn't even sent as a doc just an email. I don't hear from them June 18th and then I get an email Nov 5th that I have a late bill -- so someone forgot to email me I had a bill and I have a late charge? No itemized receipt either? What am I being charged for??? The work was fine, it was a very straight forward ask. Customer service was not great. Would not recommend if it was something important. read more

This firm did not pursue a person who violated a divorce decree after that person was supposed to pay maintenance in a divorce and did not pay. Instead they are suing the party that was supposed to receive the maintenance in the first place. Do not recommend!!! Wish they could get NO stars but you must at least give one read more

I used them for two things - selling my business and a simple name change. The attorneys were effective. However, in reviewing the bills I asked for charges to be taken off the bill that I felt were unnecessary - like being charged for the attorney to respond to my question if the hearing was in person or a Zoom . Something else they do is discuss the case amongst themselves and then bill for both attorneys time. This on a simple name change motion. I suggest keeping very good records of your conversations, emails and calls with them and checking your invoices. In each instance, they did reverse the charges I disagreed with. read more

I would strongly advise anyone from ever doing business with this law firm. I have worked in the Schaumburg business community for over 20 years dealing with small lower middle market companies. I made the grave error of hiring this firm to represent me in a family matter at it was simply stated the worst decision I have ever made. I would strong advise any individual considering this firm to find another resource. The service was poor and the managing partner directly told me the partner at his firm that I hired to represent me was the wrong person for the job and recommended I switch to a different lawyer at the same firm. The problem is they had no issue keeping all of the billing the partner I originally hired incurred. The entire process was simply stated the worst experience of my life and I would strongly advise you to find a different law firm to represent you. read more

Wonderful law firm. Ted is wonderful! Was able to help me through a pretty tough situation with ease.

All I asked for is what's going on with my brother's estate. I don't think I'm out of line.i keep calling and my lawyer never answered my phone calls. read more

Very prompt with responding to my inquiry, and explaining my options. Sarah Reusché was very professional, kind, and thorough. If I need to move forward definitely will choose Sarah! I appreciate what you do! Dean was also very helpful and prompt. read more

A lot of people are under the impression that just having a "Will" is enough to keep their children or other heirs out of probate court. In many cases, it's not. You can protect your assets and your family's future with an Estate Plan. I highly recommend Heather McCollum, an Estate Planning Attorney, at Lavelle Law in Schaumburg to learn more about the process or get started. She's friendly, professional, and wonderful to work with. read more

I was in a horrible position and Timothy Hughes saved me in more ways than one. I was about to make a huge financial error that he saved me from and then he was able to navigate me through the court system with precision, care, and a minimum of expense. I wouldn't wish this turn of events on anyone, but after finding Timothy I felt as though I finally had an ally in my corner. I can not recommend him or his firm enough, they are first rate. read more

Lavelle Law is a team of experts trained in all aspects of law. We just finished with Lavelle Law as they compiled our wills and trusts. They also manage the legal services for my business. For anything legal, Lavelle Law is the only people you should call. read more

In my experience Colleen Hurley from Lavelle Law proved to be in the upper echelons of professionalism. Even over an extended time period with innumerable questions from myself, Colleen was always cordial and eager to help seemingly at any point throughout the day. Any question/email was always responded to in a timely and informative manner. Throughout the entire process I was never made to feel as though I had become a burden and truly felt comfortable in the face of a rather stressful time. If you are in need of services of the type provided by Ms. Hurley, I couldn't recommend her highly enough. read more

Ridiculously high rates for a small firm, and the quality of their work was substandard. I absolutely do not recommend this firm.

Do yourself a favor and choose a different firm. Once you pay them; you won't hear back from them. Then you will be chasing them down for months with callbacks to find out anything about your matter. Extremely horrible customer service from Ted. He literally hung up in my face. I was waiting on a call back for two weeks. Zero follow up. Not a professional firm. Stay away from Lavelle law. read more

My experience with Lavelle law is this, I was charged over $20,000 over a two year period for an accusation against me in a probate case. The case was (back to court, back to court, back to court, back to court) Every explanation they came up with was (in my mind) moving from ridiculous to sheer stupidity. I called a few lawyers to discuss this with. All of them agreed I was being blatantly ripped off. One even said, "Even a first year law student should know this." They kept trying to talk me into settling and giving up $200,000. Then, a judges conference, where both sides meet with the judge separately. I was told " I don't see that you have a case, sir." I found a tremendous lawyer who is dedicated to resolving problems like this fast and efficient. All of the living hell and overwhelming expense I incurred was reversed by the new lawyer in (ready for this?) 2 court dates. They have the opportunity to do the right thing, I won't be holding my breath. My advise to you if you are considering this firm, find yourself a first year law student. You probably won't have to buy him/her a home in Beverly Hills for a free consultation. Be very careful. BTW, Yelp is forcing me to put at least 1 star. I don't agree with this either. read more

I am so disappointed with this firm I actually had to pay for nothing they did nothing and I end up paying more money. I own a business and I had a case that felt it was a simple my Attorney said it was a flat fee he appeared to the first court but he never showed up at the continuance so they ruled against me and end up paying almost double for something that would have been less so I do not recommend this firm they do not return calls and they were never available when I was trying to find out how was my case going. Stay away and find some one better!. read more

I needed advice on how to handle a disturbing condominium issue involving the management company and my own HOA board. I asked my long term business attorney for a referral and was given contact information for Patti S Levinson of Lavelle Law. I called and set an appointment with her at her downtown offices. Her approach was straight forward and friendly. She truly wanted to help me. I did not feel I was just another fee generator. She had done a good deal of preliminary research into my questions and concerns before our face to face. The information was spot on and I received all the information I needed to move forward with her firm. She is a brilliant attorney, and a nice person. Easy to talk with, and able to ask the right questions to get to the heart of the matter. I salute her for her work on my behalf and would recommend her to anyone for any legal work of any kind. Inasmuch as she is partner of a significant law firm, she has access to seemingly brilliant specialist in many fields. Thank you Patti and thanks to your associates at Levelle. Jim read more

I worked with Heather to revise my existing Trust. She was professional throughout the process. However, the bill was nearly double the initial estimate for one (free) consultation, one phone call, and one revision. I felt there was some padding in the fees of what was actually needed to complete this. read more

My wife and I worked with Kevin Mitrick in the process of buying our condo and he was fantastic. I turned to Kerry Lavelle with a question concerning an elderly relative who was navigating uncharted territory. He was out of town, but immediately passed my concerns along to Michael Roth who contacted me the same day. He then took the time to form a clear picture of the situation and to lay out the paperwork that would be needed to move forward. He also assured me the matter would be addressed in less than 48 hours. I would recommend Lavelle Law to anyone looking for a firm that combines professionalism with the human touch many law firms lack. read more

My experience with Lavelle Law was fabulous and that was due to the success I had with my attorney Chance Badertscher. He assisted me with closing my first home, he was extremely prompt, had recommendations of lenders and caught anomalies many other attorneys would have missed. I recently purchased a house. This law firm was amazing, they made sure I knew about everything. I highly recommend using them.

We had a wonderful experience with Kelly Anderson. She was very responsive to our emails, always called us back and made time for us. We used her to close on our house and she was very helpful and patient. Also my in-laws worked with Kelly to sell my grandmother-in-laws house after she passed and they raved about how wonderful she was. She also made herself 100% available for them and was constantly in contact with them. She even went to the hospital, while my mother-in-law was sick, so she could sign documents and keep the closing date they agreed on. She has done a fabulous job twice for my family now and we appreciate her hard work. We will use her in the future if we every buy another house and will be suggesting her to other. Great job Kelly! read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! This place is horrible. They are never available for a call. Attorneys have no clue what they are doing. I had the privilege of having Courtney Kleshinski as my real estate attorney as we just purchased our first home. I could not say enough good things about her. She was so attentive to my needs (believe me, we were needy as we were first time home buyers), responded to every one of my (numerous) emails, and answered or responded very quickly to all my phone calls. She made some excellent suggestions when I wouldn't have known otherwise, and I felt like she really cared. During our extra long closing (due to our lender), she went through every document and signing explaining everything in detail. Not only all of this, but she was extremely professional. High marks Lavelle Law!!! read more

do not hire colleen breem whatsoever ever ever ever!!!!! you will send them stuff to look at she will lie to you over the phone and then withdrawal right before you have a hearing and just lie about reviewing your case she is the biggest liar there is. she's a freaking scam i think most all lawyers are, they will say to you one thing on the phone then do the opposite, she will literally try to argue with you over the phone instead of actually doing anything just to waste your money. stay far away from colleen ever she's a scam artist. i spent a $5,000 retainer just for her to do nothing to resign right before a hearing to not even represent you!!!! i think they're all a scam over there but they just take your retainers pretend to look at your case and then argue instead of doing anything meaningful!!! they are not ethical one bit ethical ever!!!! what's even more sickening is i gave them business as a real estate agent and they still screw me over. read more

Horrible!!! Don't know where to even start to complain!! They are not afraid to charge ridiculous fees for subpar services. A critical important document was sent all crumbled up back to me. They are very unprofessional, and they definitely will not answer emails, phone calls, etc.... Don't even waste your time with them, they are not worth it at all!! I hired this law firm to do 3 things for me and not 1 of them was completed before they dropped me!! Yes they withdrew as my attorney in the middle of my case because the $5000 retainer fee was not enough money for them!! Brief summary.... I got divorced January 2017. I continue to go to court every month since my divorce. Since my divorce I have represented myself. Recently things have come up that I needed a lawyer. So I hired this law firm. My atty, Amil, and I got along great. Amil was an amazing attorney. He also knew my financial situation and he knew he would get his additional fees as soon as he helped me get the rest of my settlement from my exhusband. 1 of the 3 things I hired him for. Plus our goal was to go after my exhusband for attorney fees which we actually won with 1 out of the 3 things I hired him for. But right after working on a huge motion for me Amil asked me to drop off an additional $5000 at the office when I came in to sign one of my motions. I didn't have the additional $5000 to "just drop off" so Amil withdrew as my attorney in the middle of my case leaving me helpless!!!!!!!! Then the best part is the attorney fees my exhusband was ordered to pay of mine are no longer my exhusband's responsibility but mine!! Amil needed to come to court for 20 minutes so the judge could ask him a few questions regarding the bill. I told Amil over a month before the court dated that he needed to appear in court or the judge will strike our motion for his attorney fees. Well Amil didn't show up therefore my attorney fees that my ex was responsible for was no longer his responsibility but mine!! This law firm will not recieve another penny from me!!!! They can come after me because I have nothing anymore!! My exhusband depleted everything we had!!!! So I have nothing so they will get nothing!!!!!!!! I don't know how anyone in this law firm sleeps at night knowing what they do to single mothers who need help getting what's rightfully ours from our ex's!!!! This law firm has no heart!!!! It's all about money!!!! read more
