We needed to have some laundry done while traveling through Spain and this location was close to our hotel. Their add stated 12 euro per load. We stopped by early around 9:30am shortly after they opened. The woman who apparently is in charged measured out our clothes which barely filled 2 small clothes baskets which should have cost us 24 euro. However she upcharged us to 60 euro because we were needing to pick up the laundry before closing at 8:30pm that evening. We picked up our clothes on time. When preparing to pack to leave we discovered several of our items were missing and we had clothing mixed into ours that didn't belong to us. We we able to go back in the morning hoping to retrieve our missing items but the woman claimed they only wash each customers clothing together. We were able to show that there were unknown items mixed into our laundry and while there..one of our missing items was actually hanging up in the shop. We only retrieved the one item and the woman never acknowledged their error. Be very careful about using this facility. read more

Madrid was the second to last stop on the tail end of a 30 day European excursion. Had a suitcase full of stinky clothing that needed a serious cleaning. Sooo happy I found this place on Yelp!! Came in, a nice lady approached me and explained that after I filled the machines she would put detergent in. I asked if there was a restroom and she showed me where it was. I needed to change out of my stinky jeans! :p She also gave me change for 20 Euros. I speak spanish and I'm not sure if she spoke english, but there's a big board above the washers with easy instructions... From Hotel Europa on the Puerto del Sol, it's about a 10 min walk in the same general direction as going to the Prado Museum. Since we had a lot of clothes to wash, we figured it would take at least 30 min to dry. So at 1 euro/8 min, we decided to go the 9 euros option (the lady washes, dry, and folds all the clothes in the load). For us this was a great deal especially when our hotel wanted 1 euro per item of clothing...YIKES! We dropped off our clothes at 4pm and they were ready by 7pm. I went there solely based on the yelp reviews. The woman and man who run the shop are very nice people. They speak very little English but I was able to speak with them and understand everything. I dropped off my clothes in the late afternoon and was able to pick them up same day after 7 pm. I was charged 9 euros per load and when I picked it up they were in bags ready to go. I had just walked the Camino de Santiago, so when I made it to Madrid I had a mountain of laundry I needed to do. I did not want to do it myself as this would take away from my exploring Madrid time. When I saw what the hotel would charge to do it I laughed. It was 3 Euros for a pair of socks and the prices went up from there. My laundry would have been 50 euros easy, so instead I found this place. I walked in and the lady told me it would be six euros if I washed and dried it myself, or she could do it for nine euros and it would be ready in two hours. Perfect. I handed her my laundry and came back in two hours to my freshly washed clothes. It was completely painless. When visiting a foreign city it is no fun to waste time doing laundry. Stayed at the Westin Palace where laundry prices are nearly 9€ per t-shirt, and over 17€ for pants! After along trip we needed laundry services. This place is absolutely fantastic and was a five minute walk from the hotel. They don't speak english well, but that's okay. You can do your own laundry or better yet they will do it for you. Walked in, dropped off two large bags of clothes at 10:00 am to the owner in the back of the laundromat and picked up at 5:00 PM. Cost was 12€ per bag. Got all our laundry done for 24€ and that's simply unbeatable. Laundry came back neatly folded, organized and in a plastic bag. For an additional charge they will press everything too although it wasn't something we needed. Used them twice on our Madrid trip. read more

After looking at the prices for laundry service at the Westin we decided to take the 5 minute walk to the Lavanderia. They have several washers/dryers and also have instructions in English. Yesterday I spent two hours walking all over near our hotel trying to find a laundromat but finding only dry cleaners thanks to my gps. Thanks to some help from yelp I was able to locate this fantastic little laundromat a few km away which allowed me to wash and dry all my clothes for less than the cost of washing 2 tshirts at the hotel. Just like the other reviews said a lovely Spanish lady cane and showed me how to use the machines and gave me change for them as well. read more

This place is what tourists need when coming to this city. It's conveniently located. You can either do your own laundry or drop it off and pick it up. When I went to pick up my laundry (about 6 tops and bottoms, no underwear) the lady told me 12euros. When I told her that I thought it was 9euros, she said that I picked it up later than what I told her. Seriously? They close at 2030h, I was bout 1 hr late from the time I said I was coming but really? Anyway, that was strike 1. Strike 2 was when she tried to keep my yellow laundry bag that I made sure to pack to use it for laundry, specifically. She put my folded up clothes in a plastic bag and had the yellow laundry bag on the side. She did not make a move to give it to me until I said something and then she said "oh"! I opted to pay for the laundry service. I've always been hesitant to use laundry service for fear of my clothes being lost or messed up. But they did a great job and all my clothes were folded when I picked up. I don't even fold my own clothes when I do laundry which I absolutely hate doing! The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is that they did not return my lingerie bag which I used to wash my underwear bras ( as women know bras are expensive especially if you don't wear a common size and this is essential). I checked through my bag and it was no where to be found. Oh well, I was expecting loss of a sock or something small. Like many other reviewers here, we found this place was a great resource while in Madrid. We dropped off a suitcase full of clothes at about 10 am as we started our day and picked it up on the way back to the hotel. A bonus is that is was only a couple of blocks from the hop on hop off bus stop, which we had tickets for that day, so we didn't even need to walk back to the hotel.
