And while…read moreapprehensive about all that was involved in undergoing a colonoscopy, the IDDC managed my concerns, expectations, and the entire process expertly and professionally. The office was efficient and the intake, discharge, and subsequent follow up was without any issues. If you have the option to be referred here, the Iowa Disgestive Disease Center is worth considering as a provider of these important milestone exams.

The nurse who checked me in tried three times and couldn't get it, then a male nurse came in and tried twice. After that, another female staff member tried and still couldn't get it. Finally, someone was able to successfully place the IV. After all of that, the nurse said to me, "Next time, you need to tell people you're a hard poke." I was honestly so upset by that comment, especially because I have never had an issue with getting an IV before. If anything, I've always had them placed without a problem. I understand that sometimes IVs can be difficult to place, but after being poked 7 times by several different people, being told that it was somehow my responsibility to warn them when I've never experienced this before felt incredibly frustrating and upsetting.

They are all liars & they Don't respect the bodies of their patients. And on top of that when I had an appointment with ARNP Columbia Ptacek, I stood in front of the receptionist for 2-3 minutes...she said just a minute & she was listening to & watching a non-work related video on her personal phone with her earbuds in. The ARNP never discussed all the results with me...just sent in an RX to the pharmacy for new medicine I had to take. I had to call them & find out what the new medicine was for. AND I was on the waiting list for 13 months just to get a colonoscopy...& then just to have it be the most hellish, nightmarish thing I've ever experienced in my life and when I was trying to speak up for myself and fight for my rights I was told by the doctor to be quiet.

Absolutely appalling lack of flexibility and basic human decency…read more I was 5 minutes late to a follow-up appointment FIVE minutes and I had the courtesy to call ahead and let them know I was on my way. Despite that, they refused to see me. Not a new patient visit, not a complicated procedure a simple follow-up. For a gastronomy practice that presumably deals with patients who may be managing health conditions (traffic, parking, life), showing zero compassion or flexibility for a 5-minute delay after being notified is frankly insulting. No attempt to accommodate, no offer to wait a few minutes, no empathy whatsoever. I wasted time, travel, and energy for nothing. The least professional and least patient-centered experience I've had at any medical or wellness establishment. If punctuality matters more to them than patient care, they should make that crystal clear before booking or better yet, reflect on what "care" actually means. I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution anyone with a busy schedule or an unpredictable commute to think twice before booking here.
