Ms. Jones was observant, compassionate, and very helpful in setting up a plan for scheduling in-home care. She gained my mother's trust which was an important step. A combination of my mother's improved condition, along with a family decision to ultimately limit the amount of care my mother needed, led us to eventually choose another path for the time being. Ms. Jones was more than understanding of our situation, and offered very helpful advice that guided our way forward. I decided on UMMC partially because I have several family members who work here, but also because I'm a sentimental mush like that - I, myself, was born at UMMC and I'd like my daughter to be, as well. With that said... ...these folks are incredibly sweet. The technicians here are very thorough and will do scan after scan after scan to reassure you that everything's going okay with your pregnancy. These folks specialize in high-risk, all right - I'm 43 years old and a first-time mother (a diabetic, yet!), and there's probably no one more high-risk than I am. The genetic counselors here will give it to you straight, no sugar-coating, and I have to admit that I was frightened out of my wits at first - but when the tests came back, and all was clear, I was MUCH relieved! I think that if there HAD been something wrong, though, this place would be able to handle it with no issue whatsoever. The ladies at the front are very nice and they often ask after you, how you're feeling, etc. Appointments are prompt and efficient, but you never feel like you're being rushed to leave - on the contrary, they'll cheerfully answer any and all questions you might have. This office is VERY busy. I've seen tons of women in there with their pregnant bellies, just like me. :) I have complete faith that my baby will be perfectly all right during labor and delivery, thanks to the folks at UMMC. Recommended highly!

Staffer in particular by the name of Gina was very rude on the phone, and her attitude alone makes me want to go elsewhere for treatment. She should be In a job that stays far away from interacting with people. Karen is pretty nice, and the gentleman (unsure name) was very nice. We were late to our appointment because our sitter could only be there at 120, when our appointment started at 130. I called the day before to see if we could schedule our appointment for 145, and Karen told me there is a 15 min grace period. We got there 19 minutes past and were told we needed to reschedule because they are "very busy" and behind today (even though the day before they had a 2pm appointment). By the looks of it, they were happy to have a reason to lose an appointment slot to help them get back on track from being so behind. Very unsympathetic about the whole situation. Highly inconvenient that they don't allow children in the exam rooms, even when accompanied by another adult. My son is 19 months and it's really hard to find someone to watch him for our appointments. We rescheduled twice trying to accommodate a sitter for our appointment, only to get there a few minutes late and have them turn us away. They say they do allow children - in the lobby (so why would your significant other bother even being there if that's the case?) because of this rule, my husband won't be able to attend our ultrasound. To make matters worse, they prohibit recording/filming in their rooms. So your significant other will be wholly barred from experiencing anything at all from that appointment unless they are in the exam room (of course, without children). 2 stars given because dr. Sweeney was actually nice from my previous experience.

She was rude and wholly incompassionate about the bad news she was sharing about my pregnancy. The doctor was also rude and incompassionate. We switched to a different specialist office and had an entirely different experience. I would absolutely NOT recommend this practice to anyone with a high risk pregnancy. I can say with 100% certainty, I have never been treated so poorly by a professional establishment in my entire life. Ps- they also do not allow children in their office (another thing that Aria made sure to scold me of in the midst of talking about the risks to my new baby).
