It's the perfect store for a girl who's just starting out in the workforce - you need to look good but aren't on the salary for super high end just yet. They have heaps of different patterns and styles that are in trend but somehow manage to be really different from everywhere else. Cheap enough to buy when you're short on cash but awesome enough to make an outfit look completely different. The best thing about Gorman in Newmarket is that now I don't have to fork out a huge airfare to Aussie for my Gorman fix. It's now right here for us to savour and enjoy. Gorman specialises in dresses, tops and trousers in really cool, funky prints. I think the great thing about it is that the clothing can really be worn by anyone of any age. Nothing in there is ever too short in the hem or low cut on the bust, which is perfect for older customers, but the cuts and patterns ensure that the clothes still look really trendy and hip enough for a younger crowd. My favourite things though are the shoes and boots. I've got a pair of little Chelsea boots from here and they are so comfortable and really well made from real suede. They have lasted for ages and I wear them all the time. The store itself is really spacious and is all wooden floors and walls, making it feel really organic, which complements the clothing perfectly. It feels very light and airy in there, so you can really browse for ages and the staff are always really friendly and give great advice as they clearly know the products inside out.

I hope those prices stay the same as I am keen to stock up on some for presents for the many female family members later in the year. The clothing appears to be better quality than anything else I have seen in Avondale retail shops and I hope the business is here to stay. My mum constantly raves about the quality of the fabrics, colours and styles Moa offers. The store features a beautifully curated collection of clothing and accessories, homewares from Foxes Den and Blend Café. I haven't bought any clothing from here (...yet) but I did buy some beautiful Turkish towels that I gifted to my Dad's partner for Christmas. She loved them so much she's already been back in store to buy more. The café is also a treat. The coffee is strong and rich - best black in my opinion - and the owner, Drew is a delight. They also sell Tokyo Bikes at the café (the only stockists in NZ) and some really cool leather bike accessories! If only I was confident enough to ride a bike around Auckland! If you haven't been to The Shelter it is well-worth checking out and even though it's high end all of the staff are lovely - no snobbery here!

However the sweater was returned with a battery operated de piller. This cuts the fibres. I would have expected a jumper at this price to last the whole season. Hartleys did not want to know about the issue. I will never purchase another item at Hartleys or from Loobies Story.

The clothes are really unique, both from other labels and within the ranges themselves. It's not cheap, but I still wear things from Ruby that i've had for years, and not only are they in great condition, I still get compliments on them. The best thing about the place, is that it stocks a lot of brands you don't see around the place. Mostly American labels, but others thrown in too. They're going to be getting in Rachel Zoe's range. Other highlights? Their cashmere and bags. My mother bought a dress from there recently, a navy shift. The pricing is on the higher end - this is nice stuff. I can imagine Remuera moms coming here and blowing a tonne of cash. Little Stitch is situated right next to Dry & Tea in that pocket of Newmarket behind Rialto that seems to be upwardly mobile of late. The store is pretty small but very clean and light and they've used their space really well. There are ample mirrors for those who are vain. Kidding. Kind of.
