This well located YHA in motueka is right at the main street but you sleep without any road noises! The rooms are a bit off the street, within one minute you reach shops, bars and restaurants. Tracey, the owner, is superfriendly and makes your stay as comfy as possible! She's very helpful, so dont be shy to ask and talk with her! I liked the outdoor: a big table for warm summer nights as well as a bbq-grill for your own meats n sausages. The kitchen area is spacious so several people may cook side by side. It seems there are not too many beds so you may book well in advance! We booked a private room (queen size bed) with an own bathroom. At my stay, it was nice having a little heater in the room. The bathroom as well as the sleeping room were pretty small, so dont bring too much luggage with ya. What i consudered as a disadvantage was the shoe ban inside. From one point of view, it is better for the air you smell (abel tasman NP is close by and walking there makes feet sweaty whose smell you dont want to have inside the acco), but on the other hand, a ban of abel tasman-shoes woulda be enough imo.
