This review is overdue!! Let me start out by saying, I did not think we would be buying a home this year. I have toyed with the idea of being a home owner for a few years, prices are high, we were comfortable where we were at, but there's no feeling like knowing where you live is yours (or the bank's but you get it). My cousin had purchased a home in November, and I had so many questions! Was the process easy, what her experience was like, how did she feel? Ect. She was the one who told me how amazing LaToyia was! What's more her daughter had purchased with LaToyia's help as well! So in January I reached out to LaToyia letting her know I was interested in the process, and would love more information. I also reached out to the lender my cousin used. Unfortunately, I didn't qualify for the type of home we wanted with only my income, and my husband had been out of work due to a knee replacement and had just started working with a new company. She did recommend a lender she was working with and I reached out. I had a game plan and although I wanted it, I was reluctant. The news of the economy shifting was scary, but 6 months after contacting her, there we were, qualified with her lender with an amazing interest rate at the time. I remember reaching out to LaToyia and telling her that although we were qualified we were going to take our time and we were not in a rush to buy. We wanted to make sure we took the right steps and did not feel like we would regret our decision if the market shifted completely. We were looking for a minimum of 3 beds, 2 baths with at least 7,500 sq ft of property and the yard had to be fairly flat since we garden. On day 1 we seen 3 properties, 3 properties which I had asked to see and I was extremely disappointed. They weren't what we hoped, tiny bedrooms and living spaces. We regrouped and saw an additional 3 homes in the same week, one of those homes called to me and literally ticked every box I wanted. So much for not trying to rush in! I was begging to make an offer the next day! The only problem the house had only been listed a few days. LaToyia guided me on her opinion on what we should offer, nothing crazy like the stories you hear about where people promise their first born or sell a kidney on the black market. Something completely fair and doable. I took her up on her suggestion, wrote the home owner a letter of how amazing her home was and why it called out to me, she was upfront and said letters don't always get read as the opposing agent is usually against them. My letter did reach the seller!! We weren't the highest offer, LaToyia had a rock solid offer written up with. But this house ya'll!! Had a huge back yard (more than my 7,500 sq ft), multiple fruit trees, garden beds, the space for more and the kicker I'm in the woodworking industry and the home owner had a wood shop in her garage!! This house was prepared just for me!! My offer was accepted! Easy right? We'll not so much, I was an anxiety basket case, had so many doubts, read every story online of what could go wrong, had moments of panic, both LaToyia and Marlene (her recommended loan officer) put those doubts at ease. My loan file was so tight they never asked for any supporting documents and LaToyia and Marlene were both there every time I freaked out about what ifs! They made this process so much easier and LaToyia was always there answering all my questions. She was on top of everything! We closed a day early !! I absolutely love our home! This is gonna be a good one. It's been a minute since I gave 5 Stars and wished that I could give more.......I have crossed paths with Toyia a few times in the past. A friend needed help putting her property on the market and looking for a smaller home to purchase. I knew that I wasn't going to be available to help so I did the next best thing and referred her to LaToyia at Sequoia Real Estate. The updates that I got from my friend were always positive and how LaToyia was professional, knowledgeable, and patient. As I am opening a new bottle of wine at 10 AM EST ( 7AM PST) and listening to my friend cry, she tells me Toyia is calling on the other line and to hold please.....I'm thinking does she (Toyia) ever sleep. A very long story and a few FaceTimes short, Toyia suggested that she would look for a place for my friend to rent, help her move to her rental, and stage the property that is for sale. Not to mention, once my friend is settled in her rental she (Toyia) will have a couple of properties a week to show. Now that's dope .....how Toyia was able to show up for my friend, ease her mind, and remain committed to the process even when it was getting a bit ma-Shuuge-na. The house sold a month after my friend moved out however, she is so happy with the rental Toyia found for her; she is going to stay there for a couple years while Toyia finds her the perfect new build community. I was really impressed and thankful that my referral worked out for both parties and Toyia deserves ALL of the referrals, reviews, and rewards; she's a hard worker and she made me look good to my network of friends and peers.....sis deserves a Dap!!!! read more

I've utilized LaToyia "LaLa" for her real estate expertise now three times in the past 4 years. She first helped me sell my home in West Sacramento in 2019, then she helped me with a purchase, and then another sell in Fairfield in 2021. Each time, she exceeded every expectation I had! When my husband and I came to Latoyia we had already seen about 20 homes, put in about 7-10 offers and had them all denied while working with another agent. LaToyia Gilmore is not simply a real estate agent! She is a true angel ! I met LaToyia through a broker who suggested working with her while we were searching for our new home. I had worked with other realtors prior to her but the issue was I was pregnant and vomiting up to 12 x a day. I was not able to view homes as I was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.
