Little did we know what an epic stop it was going to be! We wandered around the 26 acre park for hours, finding massive sculptures around every corner, behind the stand of trees and along the pathways. Turn left, turn right and turn around, everywhere you wander there's something new to discover. Each sculpture is created with nature and for nature. The artists intentions are to bring awareness, provoke feelings and emotions surrounding nature, provide beauty to the landscape and to educate. There are no "hands off" signs, no "do not climb on" warnings and no fences. The sculptures are meant to be explored, touched, sat on and yes, even climbed on!! It's a park for the entire family, everyone will enjoy it!

When we visited, they were operating on a donation basis so we did stuff some money into the donation box as we started our time here. About an hour was enough to peruse through the exhibits. Some classic arts and landscapes, some modern contemporary art, a number of pro-conservation political messages here and there. Nothing outlandish. I especially enjoyed the "Big Sky" paintings by Dale Livezey and was really hoping that there might be a print I could purchase in the gift shop. Sadly no. His amazing landscapes showed a perfect sky with a gradation of color that I have never seen so well executed. It just smoothly blended from dark blue to lighter blue to very light blue with no lines. Perfectly smooth transition and I was very impressed. I would only say to the artist that there is no need to depict a moon, whether crescent or half. Gift shop is interesting, but little of the art on view is available here. Bummer. Street parking available.

I love…read moredropping in here from time to time to check out the art work ----ranging from oils to watercolors, photographs, giclee prints, ceramics, jewelry..... it's all there. This is a "gallery" in pure Montana style, not contemporary or rotating exhibitions, but rather a consistent stock of similar western art - often landscape and wildlife art (I think that's basically all Montana's artists do...). The staff is always very friendly, and there is also a custom frame shop upstairs that does a great job and carries limited edition prints if you can't afford an original. All in all a blessing to Helena's art scene!
