In the summer, I'm here for late-night meals, and in the winter, I become an Uber Eats regular…read more They're probably used to seeing my order come through with the note "no green onions please" every single time My forever favorites here are the yukhoe (beef tartare) and the shishamo. Both are non-negotiable and always hit. We still like to switch it up sometimes, and this visit we tried a few different dishes: * Kataifi-Wrapped prawn tempura: crunchy, and the wasabi mayo was my favorite part. * Nagasaki Champon with ramen: cozy and comforting. * Grilled Squid with butter: simple and done right * Beef Brisket Yaki Soba: savory and satisfying, with bonito flakes doing their little dance on top. * Karaage: coming from someone who doesn't love greasy food, this one was not greasy at all and still juicy inside. Lowkey missing their grilled beef intestine though Great highball selection as well. We got the peach highball for the one who likes sweet, and the yuzu highball for the one who likes sour. I went with the Snow beer Sapporo, topped with shaved frozen beer. Such a nice way to keep the beer cold without diluting it. Service here has always been amazing, whether they're busy or not, and that's a big reason why I keep coming back.

Their beer happy hour worth the money! $5 for a pint!…read more Food came at a decent pace. Out of the dishes we ordered, my favourite would be: grill pork belly, taro chips, yaki soba, and the fried shrimp prawn. If you want some chewy squid, then you could order the squid. The sauce tasted good but I could imagine cooking it to its perfection is hard, especially when the izakaya was actually pretty full due to the beer happy hour! The other issue would be finding a parking space. Otherwise, I would love to come back again.

Came here for dinner with my cousin last night and it was fairly empty. However the service and…read morefood came promptly. We ordered the pork ribs with truffle fries, whole squid and beef tartare and they were all very tasty and delicious. I especially loved the beef tartare, it was reallly good. It is on the pricier side as we got 3 dishes and the bill came up to be around $100 after tax. However the food was good.

As someone who cooks a lot of Korean fusion food, I'm always interested in the way Korean fusion…read morerestaurants make decisions about the execution of their dishes. When a friend suggested we go to Bistro Mujae for dinner, I was so curious about what it would be like. Tucked off a side street in Koreatown, Mujae has the vibe of an upscale tavern--classy wooden paneling, dim lighting, masterfully crafted dishware from Spirit Wares. From the get-go, the service was excellent, with the staff doing everything in their power to seat our unexpected table of 9 promptly. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. The pork ribs were extremely tender with the sweetness of the apple-kiwi marinade coming through nicely. The perilla cream kalguksu was a bit heavy, but it provided a nice rich and creamy balance to the gochujang-heavy dakdoritang. The server recommended getting the DIY rice balls instead of plain white rice to accompany our dishes, and that was a fun and flavorful alternative. However, I do think regular rice would suit the dakdoritang the best. The stir fried pork with kimchi had a nice bul-mat/wok-hei flavor, but it wasn't anything to write home about. One of the standout dishes was the Korean beef tartare, which had such a lovely pepperiness paired with the fragrance of the roasted sesame oil. In terms of general flavor- pretty solid; I'd be happy to go back. As a Korean fusion connoisseur, I do think there are several things they could tighten up flavor wise, particularly around finding dish-internal methods of lifting the earthiness of gochujang. It would also be great to see a few more light/refreshing dishes, especially with the summer coming up. But with such excellent service, I really don't have any complaints. Would definitely recommend for a night out!

Confirmed by our guest ;) As always, the team here are very attentive and polite, especially our waitress Selena. Seeing that its a Wednesday - OYSTER NIGHT BUCK A SHUCK!? had some malpeques with an assorted tray of their housemade sauces/vinaigrettes to dress! Ebi Mayo - this is one of the many staples and MUST TRYs at Nome! Jumbo tiger shrimp, lightly battered and tossed in a creamy sweet chili sauce - served with a shrimp cracker! Be sure you give that lemon a squirt before enjoying! Sashimi Salad - chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and you cant go wrong with some tasty assorted sashimi on top! I don't know what the dressing is but bury me in it please! Mmm! Samurai Crunch Salad - don't be fooled because it says salad. This bowl is topped with so many different crunchy stuff - crispy wonton, kettle cooked potatoes chips, fried shredded tiny bits of something so good I don't care what it is give me more, and a very nice creamy dressing (optional on the side). Its been awhile since we came by but they got a feature menu with some delicious items like Shoyu Butter Steak and Yuxu Hamachi! Thank you Nome, always a great time!

We made to two separate orders and the other side had a few things missed so the food times came out very inconsistent. The food was all very mid. The only dish that was good was the fried tiger shrimp with ebi-mayo. The shrimp were jumbo and juicy. We ordered a second round of this. The oden soup was also nice and cozy, esp for a cold day. You can't really go wrong with oden soup and udon. Everything else was very average. I wouldn't mind coming back here if someone suggested it but I will definitely not suggest it or come here if I had to pick.
