If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would. This has been the worst experience I have ever had dealing with any airline. We simply wanted to add our lap infant, which we were informed could be done at check in-- and I have traveled extensively on numerous international carriers, often in Business Class. To make matters worse, LATAM is currently the only airline offering direct flights to Brazil from where we live. We travel there frequently, and unfortunately our hands are tied due to limited competition. I strongly urge other airlines to expand direct routes to Brazil to provide travelers with alternatives. We arrived approximately 4 hours prior to departure with all required documentation for our infant son. We were fully prepared and acting in good faith. At the airport, we were instructed to resolve an internal issue by calling customer service while standing at the C check-in counter. We remained on hold for over 3 hours at the check-in desk, and as a direct result, we missed our flight -- a trip we had been planning for over 5 months. Because of this, we were forced to stay overnight at a hotel at our own expense. LATAM refused to compensate us despite the delay being entirely caused by their internal operational confusion and inability to resolve the matter in person, even though we were told it could be handled at the ticket counter. In total, it took a day and a half and approximately 8 cumulative hours on the phone to correct an issue that other international airlines handle routinely and efficiently. There were multiple "dropped" calls during this process, which felt intentional given the timing and frequency. Each time a call was disconnected, we were forced to restart the entire process from the beginning, repeatedly explaining the situation and resubmitting information. No one seemed to know how to resolve this issue and we repeatedly recieved contradicting information from multiple agents. We made repeated attempts to reach customer service. Only after I contacted the U.S. Department of Transportation did LATAM finally respond with seriousness. To make matters worse: * We were traveling Business Class. * LATAM sent us an email requesting extensive documentation (itinerary, expenses, credit card statements, etc.). * In ongoing email correspondence, they repeatedly addressed my wife despite my clearly stating my name and asking to be addressed correctly. This shows a lack of attention and basic respect. LATAM wrote: "Once we have the documentation, we will analyze the case and take the appropriate steps to resolve your request as quickly as possible." After providing all requested documents, we received this response: "We have reviewed your case and would like to inform you that we have not identified any outstanding amounts that would require cancellation." We were not requesting a cancellation. We were requesting reimbursement for the hotel stay caused by missing the flight due to being held on the phone at their instruction. After numerous exchanges, LATAM stated they stand firm and would not compensate us. Under ANAC Resolution No. 400/2016, Articles 28 and 30, when a passenger experiences a delay or missed flight due to the airline's operational responsibility, the airline must provide material assistance, including accommodation when an overnight stay becomes necessary. This was refused. It is also worth noting that LATAM's internal operational issues appear to be ongoing and widely reported. While the airline has received high ratings from organizations such as Skytrax and the APEX Passenger Choice Awards, these accolades stand in stark contrast to consumer-driven platforms like Trustpilot, where customer experiences reflect significant dissatisfaction. As a consumer, this discrepancy raises serious concerns about consistency between industry recognition and real-world service experiences. This entire experience caused unnecessary financial loss, stress, and significant emotional strain while traveling with an infant. Issues happen in travel. What defines an airline is how it takes responsibility. In this case, LATAM failed. I cannot recommend them based on our experience and strongly urge other travelers to avoid them. read more

Lovely business class product with marble topped surface, clever storage, and well designed lay flat bed. I just enjoyed the colors and ergonomics--everything seemed sensible and within reach. The food offered inflight, and beverage options are mediocre. Some of the cabin crew are upbeat and eager to serve, a couple were not. read more

Latam - Worst experience ever! As a frequently flyer, I typically take around 100 flights a year due to the nature of my work, and I must say that this was one of the most challenging experiences I've encountered and I strongly recommend to avoid this company at any international flight. During check-in, there was only one staff member attending to passengers, resulting in a wait of nearly 45 minutes, despite having no one else in line. This was particularly difficult as I was traveling with my family, including two elderly individuals and a 7-month-old baby, all of whom were considered priority passengers at the airport. Unfortunately, the situation was exacerbated by the rudeness of the staff. The manager did not take the time to understand our concerns and instead shouted (far away from us) that we needed to pay to check in a car seat. This lack of communication and professionalism made for an uncomfortable experience for everyone involved. The rudeness continues and it was a very uncomfortable situation to all there. It was stated that we could check in a car seat / stroller and to be worst, it was stated that our baby could have a luggage up to 50 lb. (23 kg). To avoid any more delays and the possibility to lost the flight (minutes later we received a SMS that the flight got delayed for around 1.5 hours.) On our return flight, we experienced no issues, as we checked in with another airline, which was a relief. I hope this feedback can contribute to improving the service provided by Latam for future travelers. Anyway I suggest to avoid this air line at all! read more

A few years ago, A Bolivian and Peruvian discriminated. Everyone was offered wine and beverages of all kind but to my dad and the stranger (peruvian) sitting next to him nothing.... my dad even asked for water or soda and was told okay in a a moment. He never got his water... He actually asked more like a test to see he they would give them anything. The flight was from new York to Lima Peru. Chilean airlines are not recommended for Peruvians and Bolivians. Unless you like to be treated like second class citizens. read more

Latam - RUN I'll start with the brief comment on the only thing they do well: domestic flights - their service is decent if you're sitting in the front where they block the middle seat. This is their version of business. That's it. Let's talk about the stuff that will annoy you and make you wish you just stayed home. * Domestic flights: don't be surprised if they change your flight out of nowhere and take forever to notify you. Also, our connection went two hours south then 3 hours north to get to our destination. Did I mention that we also went from having a decent day flight to having a red eye for no apparent reason? * Cleaning: I get it. They are operation like the pandemic is over. That also means cleaning the seats. We wiped our seats and tray tables and guess what? Every time, the wipes came out black with dirt. So pack your wipes. And use lots of them. * International flights seats: Get ready for you blood pressure to wise and boil. I travelled with my husband and at the time of booking, we selected adjacent seats. Why did we bother? In both legs of our trip, the app showed us sitting together up until the time we checked in, when they changed our seats and said NOTHING until we sat down and found out. Then we had to do the v begging game of trying to change seats. Infuriating right? Oh no. Wait. There's more. We were prepared when it came time for our return flight. We checked the app. We checked the map of the plane. When we checked in, the idiots had moved us again and told us there was no way to move us back! I mean they have every little excuse and no initiative to move us! If this is their damn custom, why have us select these damn seats then? Did I mention that we weee also flying first class? Why have the option to select the seats if they are not doing anything to change. In conclusion - shame for their lack of customer service and lack of initiative. And their customer service is appalling. You call and be on hold for them to finally say they can't help you. I regret spending every dime on this joke of an airline. read more
