Omfg, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE EVEN THINKING OF USING THIS AIRLINE.
With this airline it is disapointment after disappointment and then rage.
I had an entire trip with 4 different flights ALL of them were absolutely terrible.
Let's start from the beginning. My flights were
-NY/Rio de Janeiro(Brazil)- the flight I got required me to pay a fee to get to pick seats, that can be generally pretty standard for some flights at a low end price, it is a bit upsetting but ok.....As I arrived at check in I asked if I could pick my seat at check in and they told me to do the request at the gate as they could not do the change at the check in, at the gate I was told that the flight was sold out and I was not able unless there was a cancellation or a no show. I sat back down and but the bullet paying the seat picking fee, not even 10 minutes after that I magically had a sit available to me to pick. In the cabin the standard treatment I got was fluids with meals and this flight offered 2 meals, the fluids csame on very small cups and they did not have soda bottles or beer and wine which is kind of standard service for most respectable airlines.
Also keep in mind that this company has no TSA PRE agreement so no TSA PRE at all for anyone.
Traveled from New York to Rio de Janeiro, on the way I noticed that the airplane we were in was a pretty good airplane, very new and the chairs reclined more than any other airplane I have been in so far, however even though the airplane systems and brand new environment was amazing the staff made once again the light go out. They unsatisfaction was evident as you had to go getvthi ngs yourself since the staff was if little or no help at all. I could clearly see that the tripulation was not happy to be there.
I had a layover in Sao Paulo, the layover was ok. I got a box of whiskey and that counted as a luggage I was lucky I only had one luggage and 2 are allowed in international flights so I didn't pay for excess.
Now muy second trip was as frustrating as the first, this time I was going from Rio de Janeiro to Curitiba.
As I made my bag I called LATAM and stayed on a 40 min call including holding times to make sure that I had a luggage allowance. I called twice and both times I was assured that all passengers had allowances for one bag.
Ofc when I arrived to the check in booth the story changed and I was forced to pay fokr my luggage since I was misled and packed accordingly. I had to pay on both ways for the luggage as you pay each way a 80 reais fee.... just absurd. Even though I called and was told that it was free of charge they did NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE SITUATION. They just wanted me to pay and that is it.
On a 2 hour flight there was no cabin service and there was no entertainment. They make you download this app and watch the shows on your p home using their Wi-Fi that only work for that app. It is really frustrating.
On my way back from curitiba to Rio de Janeiro I had to pay the 80 dollars again since is 50 reais online through their website and I tried to do that way to save a couple of bux but guess What! That website has issues sooo there is no way to do it online and they do not honor the website price even though it is their fault the website is down ....
Anyways, this airline is terrible, you here are not treated like valued customers, but like cattle that they want to milk money out of regardless of the fact that you are unhappy every step of the way. NEVER AGAIN!
another fun detail is that there was some black grease under the seat and got my hands dirty, I asked for wet papers and I was told by the crew to just go to the bathroom and wash my hands.
