Beautiful work. When some girl decided to change lanes ONTO the side of my M3 convertible, Lasky gave my car back to me looking better than new. Their repair work was excellent and the paint work was impeccable. ** Update. In a small accident, another driver dented three panels on the passenger side of my Prius. Once again, Lasky did an amazing repair and the car looks as good as new. They even buffed out a few scratches on the Other side of the car! :) Also, in reading yelp reviews of another shop that Toyota had recommended, someone had complained of the shop charging them a bunch more than the insurance company had authorized. My repairs at Lasky were exactly as they had estimated and the also said they would contact the insurance company directly if there were any additional charges (which there were not). read more

Unfortunately, I have gotten to know Marc's work quite well (which is to say that my poor Miata seemed to be a magnet for other cars). Every time I've brought a car into Lasky for bodywork, it comes out looking better than new! Marc pays amazing attention to detail, and he truly cares about making sure the cars that come out of his shop leave flawless. He won't settle for anything less than stellar work, and I would never bring my car anywhere else. I wouldn't take my Mercedes anywhere else. The salesperson that sold me the Mercedes recommended Marc for some body work. He has worked on my car a couple times and it always looks better than new. He was able to remove a dent (which the car came with and the repairman at the dealership said couldn't be fixed, or at least he wasn't able to fix it) in a very difficult place. I thought I was going to be stuck with that dent for the life of the car (I tend to keep my car for years) but he was able to remove it and it looked as though there was never a dent there. This place is super shady. My parked car was hit around 10 p.m. and the tow service recommended this place. It was not my insurance company's preferred shop so I chose to have my car transferred. The owner called me to try to get me to keep it at Lasky. After consulting my car guru friends, they recommended I go with my insurance company's shop. The owner refused to release it to the new shop and then charged my insurance company $785 dollars. People like this guy are why insurance rates are so high. I'd say this is criminal behavior and wouldn't trust this shop. read more

Marc and his mechanic (I lost his name... Sorry!!) fixed my car beautifully FOR FREE!!! All he asked was to tip the mechanic. I bumped into a car in front of me the other day. I got misplaced my front bumper and the number plate was almost falling. Marc found out the inner iron part was bent by opening up the bumper parts and told me that he needs to get the part and replace it for $300. $300 is already a great deal but I was about to sell the car. I told him the situation and said 'I'd rather tell the situation to the buyer and sell it a little cheaper.' The mechanic was being professional and wanted to replace everything to make it safe. He then decided to cut out one a part of the iron and they fixed as I wished. I was going to pay for their labor, but Marc told me just to tip the mechanic the said, 'don't pay me anything.' I literally got some tears from appreciation since the car had been very problematic and I paid a lot of money, at least a hundred bucks every time I got fixed something. Marc is my hero! I have a black 2010 BMW X6M which was parked at a gas station pump. An older gentleman turned the corner a little too early resulting in him scrapping my left quarter panel/ bumper. Anybody who owns a Bimmer truck, especially an "M" can agree the tiniest scratches or any other repair work at that results in major $$$. For a vehicle like that, or any other higher end car you might want to take it to Marc Lasky in West Los Angeles. If you are on the fence on where to send your vehicle, Marc does insurance work and performs a thorough quality job and assures after the work is done everything is like new. Back in 2004, I took my car to Lasky for repair. I was told that the repair required replacement of the rear quarter panel. The insurance company representative felt otherwise but eventually with pressure from me agreed to pay for a new quarter panel. Several weeks afterward I was pursuing a diminished value claim with the same insurance company and they sent an independent inspector out to assess the loss of value. The inspector found that the quarter panel was not replaced! A second inspection confirmed the same thing that the quarter panel was not replaced even though Lasky had insisted that was necessary. This is fraud under the law. I would never take my a car to their shop again. read more

When my car got dinged up in the front bumper I went to this place and asked how much it would be just to replace the headlight and other lights on the front instead of repairing the entire bumper and hood. He got all offended and told me that they didn't do that kind of work and if I want to Mickey Mouse my car to take to such and such area (a poor area of town) where I would be able to find someone to help me out. He then walked away. I couldn't believe how snooty and upset he got. Not cool at all! read more

My experience with Lasky Coachworks was very poor. The quality of their paint work is just average. The owner, Mark Lasky, comes off as a nice friendly guy, but don't question his work or cross him. His attitude can do a 180 degree turn and the profanity will pour from his mouth. He can and will literally start throwing things. He also does stand behind his work. I highly recommend Mark from Lasky's Coachworks. We scratched my dad's lexus car door. Mark picked up the car, met with the insurance agent and returned the car to me super fast. I didn't have to do one thing! The best part: Mark repaired every ding and scratch all around the car that was there previously and the car looks brand new! I think he repainted the entire car. Well, i did more stupid things with my car that resulted in scrapes on both sides! The car went back to Marc. He did another beautiful job at what I considered to be an incredibly fair price. (I paid.. No insurance for this one). While my car was there, I accidentally dinged my niece's car but good with the door from my 28 year old backup car. (It's mint. I'm obsessive.) Before she came home from Vegas, I ran her car over to Marc who calmed me down and buffed it out. No charge! It's great to have "go to" people when you do stupid things with your cars! read more

Marc is a class act. Someone managed to completely scratch/dent the entire passenger side of my car, and after a lot of searching around specialist shops, I was referred to Marc Lasky. I have a somewhat rare, although not super valuable car that parts for are really difficult to find, and most people don't know how to work on it. I originally took it to Harry's Auto Body (the big one) and basically they talked me out of taking it there, as they're more of a factory style place. Marc is an attention to detail guy - I could easily see that people trust him as there was a seriously rare 66 mustang that's worth several hundred thousand dollars being completely stripped, welded and rebuilt. People with cars like that don't take them anywhere and now I see why. He easily could have talked me in to a full respray but I really appreciated the advice that it's best to keep the original paint where you can on a vehicle like mine. The parts took forever to arrive (not his fault as they were coming from the east coast and europe) and he got his work done pretty quick. Frankly, it's never looked better. He even buffed the lights on my car to new condition. The only downside Marc's is tucked away off Olympic near the 405 so it's a hike to get all the way from downtown to his place, but if you want a job done right....... Highly recommended. read more

I was very bummed when I crashed my new car into a wall while parking (don't ask!). Several years ago I had brought my old car for bodywork to Lasky and the had done beautiful work, so I knew I could trust them. I picked up my car today and, again, was so impressed! Lasky Coachworks Inc. was recommended to me by a friend, a few years ago. Marc Lasky, the owner, is known to be an expert in the field, and he can fix any car, if it's a collector car like a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or just a regular car. Today I took my car in to fix a scratch on my left rear bumper. For my surprise, he took the time to fix it on the spot. He mixed the color, buffed the area, retouched the area. The color was of course, a perfect match. From my experience, matching the color is one of the most difficult aspect of fixing a car and most places do a poor job. I have been a customer of Lasky Coachworks twice since 2012. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment as they deliver both great results and outstanding customer service. Every time misfortune has come to my vehicle, the only bright spot in the experience has been Marc and his team at Lasky. My first experience with Lasky was in June 2012 after my car (2011 Nissan 370Z with a custom paint job) was damaged in an accident. My car had significant driver's side damage and required intensive body work. Lasky worked closely with my insurance company (Progressive Insurance) and had my car back to me, like new, before their 3 week estimate. All costs were as estimated and I had only to sign for deliver of my (like new) vehicle. My second experience with Lasky was in Aug 2015 when my car was the victim of punk vandals who keyed 3/4 of my vehicle's body. I had no hesitation to bring my car back to Lasky for an estimate, and ultimately a repair. Again, Lasky delivered: it was a no hassle experience that had my car back to me before the due date, and exactly as estimated. I was routinely kept up to speed on repair activities and given complementary rides to my office from the shop upon drop off of the vehicle. As an added bonus, Lasky even added some additional touch ups (at no charge) so that my now 4 year old car shines like the day she came off the lot. It's even better than new now! read more

Something very odd about this place. Four visits there in the last few weeks to get a proper quote. No problem on that at all. But on every visit, there were no other customers there; just the reception guy, the tech and the painter (owner). The shops around the corner (e.g. Golden Hammer) are bustling. Just my opinion, but it feels like Lasky Coachworks is trying to squeeze the last bit of life out of this place. Their quote was literally more than twice as much as the place I selected for the job (which was middle of the road on pricing). But I overheard some sort of discussion between the tech and the painter that sounded like they were trying to get more profit out of my job for the technical work. Since my experience with the tech also left me feeling uncomfortable, I did not want to leave my car there. So, no thanks!! read more

Buyers beware. Lasky coach works claims to warranty their work as long as you own your car (call and ask) as other repair shops do. Granted I had work done some years ago. Do not go to this shop. Overpriced quotes and delays in repairs are just the beginning. I brought my car to this shop to get minor repairs for a side collision and got charged almost $4000. After the repairs, my hood, which closed properly before, would frequently unlatch itself. The engine check light, which had never come on before, lit as soon as I drove the car off the lot. When confronted with these previously nonexistent problems, the owners, Monique and Marc,were very rude and denied all responsibility in connection with work done by their shop. Don't bring your car to Lasky Coachcworks or O'connell, their sister shop next door. Thumbs down for overpriced, shoddy repairs and awful service. read more

My family had taken two cars here in the past, and were very happy with the service and work, which is why I decided to go back there again. However, when I was in a recent car accident and returned I was treated terribly. I was told my car would be repaired in 1 week and it took them over 2 weeks to complete minor work on my bumper. They refused to compensate me for the car rental for the extra time it took them to fix the damages. I had to follow up repeatedly and each time they told me the car would be ready on a different date. To make matters worse they charged my insurance company for services I did not receive. I even spoke to the owner, who was really rude and did not provide any support. Overall, it took them extra time to repair my car and my hood was still not aligned and fixed properly when I picked it up. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I have been going to Lasky Coachworks and have know Marc Lasky for about twenty years now. He does impeccable work and his shop is really unusual and out of the norm for any body shop in Los Angeles.First of all Marc is truly a Master Painter and has been painting the cars he repairs for thirty five years.Marc attended Cal State Northridge as an art major and it truly shows in his work.He treats every car he works on like its a work of art.Marc repaired my GT2 Porsche that was badly damaged and it was truly a seamless perfect repair that was undetectable,I know this for a fact because when I sold the car the new owner took it to the dealer and they stated "this car has never been repaired"!As I said seamless and flawless!I told the new owner of the GT2 that the car had been repaired but he was really happy that the repair couldn't be detected by even the dealer!I send all of my friends and business associates to Lasky Coachworks because I feel comfortable that Marc will take care of them like family,the way he takes care of ALL of his customers!I know Marc personally and know his father was a Doctor,he has been referred to as the "physician of collision" a great description of how he sees his work and treats his customers.Hopefully I wont need Marc's services soon,but if one of my babies gets damaged I feel comfy in knowing Marc is there for me...........Go see Marc's shop its like going to "monster garage"!! = read more
