For anyone else with similar experiences, I'd highly recommend reporting them to the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine. The form can be found at https://lsbvm.org/wp-content/uploads/Complaint-Form-Licensees.pdf Unethical vet and dangerous practices, money driven instead of having pet's best interest in mind. Full details below, but the worst was: * kenneling my 6' Great Dane in a 3x5 kennel for weeks, while adamantly reassuring me he was happy, healthy, and in a kennel "plenty large enough for him". * being angrily berated by Dr. Colvin, while closed off in a small patient room without additional staff or witnesses. This felt very threatening and honestly quite scary. - Service: Aural hematoma surgery and boarding for my Great Dane - Total paid: $2,250.70 - Key issues: * Surgery failed -- hematoma recurred under their care. * Boarded in 3×5 kennel; tech admitted on the last day that kennel was too small and was the cause of the recurrence. * No post procedure pain meds or antibiotics until requested; outside vet confirmed they were medically needed. * Charged for flea meds on his last day, when he was current on Bravetco and had a seresto collar; charged for an e‑collar that was not not provided. * Dog returned with paw sores from kennels and improper hematoma bandaging causing re‑bleeding. * Dr. Colvin emotionally berated me when I arrived to pick up requested antibiotics and pain meds - I attempted resolution privately; no response was received.

I have a new puppy and I was looking for a Vet. My neighbor and on my Nextdoor page recommended…read moreSouthside. I made an appointment with Dr Campbell. She was very nice. She made my puppy and me feel comfortable. She took time and explained everything we needed. After establishing a relationship with my puppy all went well. She got all her shots and vaccines. They gave her treats and made sure she was feeling safe. They actually got on the floor to her level to make friends before the doctor examined her and treated her. They took their time with our visit. I was impressed and will be returning to Dr Campbell next month. If you have a new pup or looking for a new Vet I recommend Dr Campbell at Southside Animal Hospital.

I saw "Southside Animal Hospital" was near me, so I scheduled an appointment. Lisa, the staff with whom I made the appointment, was very friendly; great people skills. I met Dr, Campell who was personable, able to identify some issues, without having my pet's medical records, that were exactly correct, and took the time to address my questions. She did not try to schedule expensive tests, etc., but rather educated me on things that may be needed at a later time. Willow, the technician, was also personable, and very comforting to my pet throughout the vaccination process. I was very pleased with the services I received, and recommend this animal hospital to those new to town or those needing a good Vet and team.

My fur baby was a 11 year old husky who was in good health. We hiked / ran almost everyday. One day she was a little lethargic during our hike so I brought her in. The female vet was nice. Seemed to care. She said my doggo had issues with her liver breaking things down and said she should start taking the supplement regularly. She seems good for a month and than the same thing happened. She became oddly lethargic during a hike. Didn't realize it would be the last time I'd see her. :/. She went into cardiac arrest while getting checked out and died the next day after another episode. I had this sweet baby by my side for 8 years, never being apart longer than a week and only twice. As I occasionally get emails from this place, I did and it reminded me of when I went to pick up her dead, lifeless body & the people at the front desk stared at me as my eyes were watering and voice shaky. I felt judged and uncomfortable with the whole situation. The didn't say anything to me... I even saw one lady look at and other lady with a puzzled look on her face. Ma'am my dog died... a member of my family and felt weird leaving with my dead dog in a body bag. Learn empathy and how to briefly console someone who just lost a loved one rather than be silent and pass judgement could do you good in your line of business. The vet seemed genuinely nice but, the memory of picking up my fur baby dead and ladies in the front office area... cold, judgy and careless has stayed in my mind still a few years later.
