A Taste of Mexico: Las Margaritas in Tulum
Venturing out from the Bahia Principe resort, we joined our newfound Canadian friends for an adventure of cervezas, food, and shopping in Tulum, Mexico. The Mexican public transportation offered a spacious, clean, and speedy ride for just $50 pesos per person.
Exploring Tulum's vibrant strip, we found ourselves at Las Margaritas for a taste of local cuisine and refreshing drinks. Seated on the breezy sidewalk, my wife and I enjoyed the two-for-one specials on Mojitos and classic Margaritas, while our friends savored some ice-cold cervezas. Despite any concerns, the ice was safe and caused no issues.
Amidst a diverse crowd of Americans, Canadians, and even a couple from Switzerland, we delved into the menu. Opting for the Cochinitas Pibil, a renowned Mayan dish, I was treated to a flavorful and utterly delicious meal. Meanwhile, my wife indulged in guacamole and sauces, served with crispy chips. Beware of the green speckled sauce, as it packs quite a punch!
The restaurant offered a typical inner-Mexican dining experience, with wooden chairs that leaned towards discomfort, but that's all part of the charm. Clean tables and menus, wiped down with bleach cleaner, ensured a hygienic environment.
Our waiter added to the enjoyment of the evening with his humorous demeanor, attentiveness, and swift service. As the bill arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the total for all of us came to just $334 pesos. You simply cannot beat that for an authentic Mexican cuisine and experience.
Overall, our visit to Las Margaritas was a delightful blend of culture, good company, and fantastic atmosphere. A true taste of Mexico that left us craving more. read more
