After staying here for four nights, I can say that I am very pleased with this hotel. While I…read moretypically prefer more mainstream 4 star hotels, you can't beat the value and location of the Interplaza in Cordoba, Argentina. Situated half a block from the Plaza San Martin in the center of Cordoba, the 11 story building offers standard rooms and junior suites. I decided to take the junior suite as it was only 705 pesos per night and with the current conversion of 1USD = $12.5 pesos that amounted to $56 a night with taxes! You get a lot of value for that small amount of coin. The junior suite was clean with large windows that opened up on San Jeronimo Street and faced the beautiful Banco de la Provincia de Cordoba building. A couple of other older buildings on the street are currently being renovated and when finished the view will be wonderful for those who love the variety of classical architecture that the City of Cordoba has to offer. A funky large desk sits in the middle of the room and holds the nice flat screen TV on one side facing the bed and a desk and two chairs and some shelves on the other. As someone who works on the road I really appreciated that there was a plugin for my laptop right at the spot where I worked that didn't require a converter. The bed was big and comfortable, but I missed having a sitting area that most hotel suites offer. The bathroom was modern but had some interestingly tight corners. The shower was adequate, but as a big guy it was a little small for me. The suite comes with tons of closet space and a safe that probably could be updated. I had to call for help when I couldn't lock it one day. Help came right away. The carpeting in the room should definitely be replaced as well as in the corridors. The mini-frig had plenty of water, but I was disappointed there was no beer and little snack options. Free wifi was included and while it worked well at the desk, it was a little spotty in bed. The staff of this hotel are excellent. From reception where English is spoken well, to the very helpful bellhop, maids and wait staff in the Lobby bar/restaurant I was very pleased with how friendly and attentive they all were. Room service was quick and friendly. The restaurant/lobby bar sits on one half of the lobby which creates quite the buzz in the lobby. I was pleased that large screen TVs were available to watch the World Cup matches. The lobby also offers a very nice sitting area and a there is a pleasant wall fountain. One computer is available for guests in the lobby and there is also plenty of work space and plugs for those who carry a laptop. The wifi in the lobby was impressively fast. Breakfast is included with your stay and it was typical continental fare. I would have liked to see more hot food options such as eggs, but there was plenty of juice, coffee, fruit cocktail, and variety of breads and jams. I had lunch and dinner at the restaurant during my stay and I was very pleased each time and the prices were very reasonable as compared to other local restaurants. I noticed that the restaurants gets its fair share of locals who come for lunch. While overall the hotel in my mind rates as a 3.5 stars. Improved flooring would make all the difference. However, for the value I stated above, location, the quality of basic amenities offered and the professionalism of the staff you really can't beat it. Sheraton's and Windsors are definitely nicer, but you get a lot of bang for your buck, or peso I should say, at the Interplaza.
