Listen, I didn't think I'd be a "frequent flyer" at the LAPD Olympic Division, but someone has been stealing water from my swimming pool like a communal watering hole, and I had to report the hydration heist. I headed in specifically hoping to see Officer Spencer (who is already a total smoke show), but he wasn't on the clock. I thought, "Darn, my day can't get any more lackluster." I was wrong. Enter Officer Cabral. Is the City of Los Angeles exclusively recruiting from the runways of Milan? Does the police academy have a mandatory "smolder" exam? I walked in to report a crime and ended up witnessing a miracle. "Tall, dark, and handsome" doesn't even cover it, this man looks like he was sculpted out of marble by Michelangelo himself and then gifted a badge. I walked in to discuss water levels and walked out wondering if I should check my pulse. If the LAPD's strategy for lowering crime is to simply stun citizens into silence with sheer aesthetic perfection, it is working. If you're going to have your property stolen, do yourself a favor and get it handled here. 10/10, would get my water siphoned again just to file the paperwork. I live in Koreatown, and after multiple break-in attempts, I discovered a rape kit outside my building. Two break-ins were successful--once while I was home, and another when my neighbor was. Both incidents happened around 4 AM. The intruder was Hispanic, with a buzzcut, wearing a handkerchief over his face, a T-shirt, jeans, and Converse shoes. The person before me left a dummy camera, which the intruder covered. The police did not take pictures and seemed indifferent. I found disturbing items in the kit: shampoo, clean clothes, zip ties, an X-Acto knife, and tape--all suggesting a planned attack. My landlord said I could get a gun, but for now, I've installed alarms, cameras, and plan to defend myself if necessary. We have had 10 mobile homes in front of our business parked 24/7 for 6 months! They are breaking traffic laws, parking laws, broken into the city electrical grid and water. Came here to put in a police report for a hit and run that happened on my parked car! The place it happened at got security footage of it. It's been MONTHS! I haven't heard jack. The officer who helped me was pretty straight forward and protocol-following. Standard for what you would expect out of law enforcement? The place was clean and there was free parking and no line. So I guess that's a plus. He hinted and kind of told me that I was SOL with stuff like this. Great! What was the point of me putting in a police report? I'm not sure. You would think they could blow up the license plate and track the horrible woman down by using the DMV right? Guess not? I'm not even allowed to get the security footage from the place it happened at itself. I'm so irate whenever I look at my car and that crap dent I got on it because of the idiot who hit my car. Barely had my car for months and now it's just ugly AF. I can't believe nor do I want to know how many people get away with being bad humans. It's ok, I'm sure karma will come around someday. I get pissed every time I walk out to my brand new car that now looks like a sack of $h... because of this dumb lady who decided to try to squeeze into a parking spot. Officer C Argueta was incredibly rude. We waited for 2 hours with the criminal inside McDonald's. Once they got there she screamed at me that there is nothing they can do since the criminal stole my green card on a different day. Even though we had footage of the criminal being inside our building intruding again on the same day. Very disappointed with the lack of understanding and misconduct in this case. The police report will do nothing for me to get a replacement. Detectives don't pick up the phone. There's no way to get a hold of anyone in that station. We have footage of the person who is a regular in our building and the McDonald's nearby and police is saying there's nothing we can do to arrest him. read more

From the lack of competent staffing, there was only one officer with at least 5 ppl waiting and he didn't speak Spanish, in an area that is predominantly Spanish speaking, to the bathrooms that were gross. They had a sign that read "stay 6 ft apart" but no soap to wash your hands- what a joke. read more

I am driving EV over 5 years. We don't need 4 hours to charge our EV vehicle. Somehow this location controlled by one family. Each of his family member is charging their EV one by one every 4 hours. No one can charge their EV because The owner come up tells you He is charging only 1 hour because the parking is saying 4 hours ??? It doesn't make any sense. Hope officials see this message. I'm honestly disappointed with my 3 recent experiences with this station. I reported my stolen bike and told them the thief was selling my bike on a classifieds website and secondly, my mail was being stolen out of my mail. The first time I called, I reported my bike and told them that it was on a website being sold by the thief. I even got the thief's phone number by pretending to be a potential buyer, so I gave that to the officer who I finally got a hold of after calling several different numbers and waiting on hold for over an hour. The cop who I talked to kept making up reasons why they couldn't do anything about my bike. I've had that bike for year, rode it very often and it's a $5K bike. I told the officer how much the bike meant to me, but he didn't seem like he cared. Second time, I called about mail and identity theft and I called several times and left a message. They call back once a few days later. I missed the call and so I called back and ask that the assigned detective call me back. Well, I never got a call back. So then, I called back and they gave me a website where I can file a police report. I file a report and nobody ever responded. Third time, I called to make a complaint about noise violation. I think it was some homeless people outside my apartment. They were yelling and playing music loud at like 3AM. Well, they continued to do what they were doing for a few more hours, since the cops never came. What I learned is, it's a waste of time dealing with them. Each time I called, I sat there waiting for over an hour just to talk to somebody. You call and nobody picks up or it hangs you up. Then when it goes through, you talk to the desk officer, then he gives you another number to call depending on your case, so you call that number and nobody picks up. You literally have to dedicate over an hour just to talk to them. Then when you do talk to them, they show no interest in your case. Again, very disappointed. read more

I recently had my car broken into so they told me to come in. No one is ever in this station, and they have different community meetings in a meeting room in the lobby. The officer that helped me was really nice and helpful, the only problem is that I waited forever because of people ahead of me. Thank you for the unforgettable LA welcome you gave my friend. 30 minutes after I picked her up at LAX, her and I were facedown on Santa Monica Blvd with about 20 officers surrounding us with guns and a helicopter shining on us. Her and I (2 white 30-year-olds from New Hampshire) were mistaken for a Latino man and woman in a different make and color car who committed a crime in the area. I told her not to make any sudden moves when we were ordered to place our hands out the windows of my car before we had to get down on the ground at 3 am.... y'know, based on current events. She was pretty close to shitting her pants at that point. :) When I asked what it was all about, I received NO answers for about 30 minutes. This was after having my wallet taken from my pocket and being placed in the back of a police car with my hands cuffed behind my back. :) That's where I watched them search my car from and perform a background check on me after demanding my SSN and my current employer, etc. :) After a witness of the crime eventually came by, and confirmed we weren't the suspects; again, different race, appearance, vehicle, etc., they were very LOL and "thanks/sorry 'bout that!" I LOVED when one of the officers shouted out "TICKET!" after noticing I still had a dealer plate on the front of my car. I'm *pretty* sure the nightmares have stopped, and I'm driving at night again without craving a Xanax. Thanks again, guys. It felt like I was in one of those big Hollywood productions, but funded by my taxes. :) read more

After reading all these reviews, I was dreading calling the station to inquire about a citation. The phone ringed for a good 5 minutes before Officer Gil picked up. He was very professional, kind and patient. Took the time to listen to my concerns and went above and beyond to address them. He solved what it took weeks of calling various agencies and court visits to deal with a poorly issued citation. She looks suspicious and seating on the corner of our parking lot gate which is dangerous too. They just transfer my call to some call center and o was on hold for 20 mins. Extremely disappointed with my experience last night. I called out LAPD to help me with a neighbor dispute. A female became irate, threatening, and reckless over an ongoing parking dispute. She threatened to bring her boyfriend so he and my fiancée could, I guess, go head to head over this nonsense of an issue. I felt threatened and scared. I turned to LAPD but was devastated at their lack of support. 2 officers who now I refer to as "thugs with a badge" because they weren't kind enough to give me their names , came out to interview me first then spoke to the poor excuse of a mother (she was acting "ghetto" while her two children were in the back of the car!!). I overheard her lying to them and making ME look like the assailant so I come out and asked if I can be present during their interview because I deemed it unfair for her to lie about me. Of course they told me to go back inside my apt, which I did. I left the door open to my apt expecting them to come back and talk to me more after their conversation with that woman. Nope, they left. Didn't give me their business card or anything. Just flat out left , without giving me some guidance or referral as to how I should handle this threatening situation. I drove to Olympic station where I spoke to Sgt Powers who did nothing but defend his "boys" saying they didn't need to go back to speak to me, they didn't need to give me a business card, it's not standard procedure, then became frustrated with me and said "what do you want me to do?!" If not standard procedure, isn't it common courtesy? Can these guys at LEAST act like they care? I know she can't be arrested for verbally insulting me but can you give me some kind of guidance before it turns into physical violence? I feel alone in this situation. Very disappointed in their lack of sympathy for their citizens. What's even more funny, they had a stand in their office that asked visitors to rate their service. It's all a joke. If you're not being beat, shot, or stabbed they don't care. I'm sorry to talk about PD this way because I've always defended them for the hard work they do but my experience crushed all of that. At 11 pm on a weekday. Pros: Clean and large facility; parking spaces available in the back. Cons: Their phone rang for 30 minutes. Still no answer. So, my husband and I go into the station to follow up on a report they took. There is one officer at the front. There are 5 officers in the back room just hanging out and relaxing. When we waived one over, he couldn't be bothered. THAT is what our taxes pay for. THAT is what criminals are looking for. Criminals are rejoicing at the cops just not caring for the concerns of good citizens. Very disappointed at their lackadaisical attitude. Letters will be written to the Captain. I suggest all the other citizens follow suit. I called frantic at 5am SEVERALLY times due to my neighbor getting beat up by her boyfriend & they neverrrrrr came ! That poor girl could've been kilt! Smh talk about protect & serve Huh ... I though I would never be able to get it back and I thought they would never be able to catch him just cause my description of him was very generic and not very specific...... But they were able to find my stuff(not all of it but still the most valuable ones) and the detective has been amazing with keeping up on track with me on how the case is going. One time I lost my wallet and the thief was constantly using my credit card (I could check on my online account statement) and the officers did nothing about it. When we called a police officer to go check it out, they would refuse to answer their phone. (I know this because I heard the two officers that i was talking to were talking amongst each other and that's what they said) i eventually ended up going to the places myself because the police wouldn't help me Today, I called the police three times because a car in front of my house wouldn't stop alarming. I called around 2am, 2:30, and 7am. At 2am, they said they will tie the car. Second time they just said a police will come out. 7am) these are the officer's direct words "idk how long it will take but a police officer will come out". I just went to LAPD's Olympic Division to report a car accident (a kind of hit/run) and the theft of my catalytic converter. Needless to say when I entered the Police Station, I was not a happy camper. Instead, I was a way-be-gone, condemned soul wondering why oh why god had decided to unleash his relatively mild wrath on my little life. It had been a tough couple of weeks. When I got to Olympic Division Officers Park and Fernandez were manning the desk and there were a few people waiting. I was surprised at how nicely each of them handled the various situations... and I was happy regarding the speed in which they solved the problems being presented to them. When my turn came and as I told my convoluted story with tangents and references, they both got that it was going to take a bit to sort the fiasco which was my life out. Both of them were patient, professional and polite. Officer Parks was a bit more lively. Officer Fernandez was a bit more structured. Officer Parks took care of the catalytic converter theft... Officer Fernandez dealt with the much move involved car accident (which was a borderline hit and run... the guy who hit me had stopped returning my texts and calls and missed the appointment at the bodyshop... and I didn't not have all his info... and he might actually speak english and not be mono-spanish... so the story was long)... Officer Fernandez got supervision and suggestions on how to handle the issue and took almost an hour helping me sort through the mess. The entire time that Office Fernandez was dealing with my big issue... Officer Park was dealing with the other people waiting. He was expressed concern, decency and warm in every interaction he had... both in person and on the phone. So... they were both amazing and the LAPD is lucky to have them... and more importantly... we are lucky to have them. read more

It's people like OFFICER RODRIGUESthat give police officers a bad name. We had recently had our storage locker broken into. We were told to file a report. When we arrived at the station, we were treated quite rudely by OFFICER RODRIGUES. Once he found out there was a detective on the case, rather than helping us fill out a report, he couldn't dismiss us fast enough. OFFICER RODRIGUES needs to remember that he is there to serve the community. As inconvenient as it may be, that is his job. It is people like OFFICER RODRIGUES why the Public never supports the police. When the detective finally called us, it turns out we do need typo file a separate report. OFFICER RODRIGUES shouldn't have been in such a hurry to get home to trim his pornstache. The stigma that police officers are nothing but punk kids that are over compensating for whatever crappy lives they lived, had been quite reinforced by OFFICER RODRIGUES. read more

We had a terrible experience with this police department! One morning 7 officers from this station unexpectedly showed up at my house and demanded to search it. I asked to see the warrant, and they told me they didn't need one. I was a pre-law major who worked at a criminal defense law office and for the attorney general's office. I know the law- they needed a warrant. I have nothing to hide, but at the same time I don't want them going through my home with no reason (and there was no legit reason). When they told me they were going to search the home without a warrant and without my consent I told them that I wanted to call their superior. They refused and said they'd arrest me and take my children if I didn't let them enter. I told them I wanted to call my attorney and they said no. When I knocked on the neighbor's door to get a witness, I was told that I was not allowed to leave my porch and that I needed to return immediately. They kept me and my children in our pjs on the porch while they went through our stuff without our permission. Much, much more happened, and throughout the process it only got worse. We now have Internal Affairs and the FBI investigating. I'm a law abiding citizen who respects those who serve our communities, but these guys really need to get it together. read more

"Officer" Lee, not sure if today was his first day on the job but he wasn't able to answer any basic questions, and to top it off he had the worst attitude, worse than a retail worker at McDonald's. This guy kept making little "funny", rude remarks to the serious reason I was there in the first place.
