I broke my tooth on Friday night and was recommended to come to Rangewood Dental by many folks on Facebook after I inquired for a good dentist and I noted that I have dental anxiety. Several comments directed me to Dr Skaggs. I called Monday am, at 8, and was scheduled for an appointment at 11am the same day- even though a couple folks were out on vacation! When I came in i was anxious and probably the least favorite type of patient. I needed help with the new client intake due to complications of MS and my eyes being as bad as my hand mobility, Dawn helped me without me asking for her help; even tho I showed up late bc I went to the wrong place first! I was super needy but Dawn and Dr Skaggs made me feel at ease, helped me beyond the necessary and we have zero history. I've got a couple friends whom aren't as nice as the folks at this dentist office. This place left me feeling like I made friends instead of needing medication for anxiety and stress migraines that usually come for me, simply from going to the dentist.

I have been seeing Dr. Douglas Evans since 2005.  Although his office is 105 miles away from where…read moreI live in Longmont, I happily make the trip down to have him do all of my dental work.  I was seeking a dentist who specialized in cosmetic dentistry and who accepted my insurance, and Dr. Evans met both criteria.  Before opening his private practice in 2003, Dr. Evans was an Air Force dentist for 23 years, and as a veteran myself, I knew that military dentists were trained to conserve teeth to the fullest extent possible.  This was very important to me since I'm trying to keep my teeth for as long as possible.  And after all, isn't that what we all want?  Dr. Evans always recommends the most conservative treatment that will prolong the life of a tooth. Quick story to bring home this point...on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving of 2011, a cusp of a lower molar had broken off and the sharp edge was cutting my tongue.  I immediately had visions of a root canal and a crown while I was dashing around town gathering everything I needed to put on a Thanksgiving Day feast.  I called Dr. Evans' office and was told that he would stay late on Wednesday if I could make the drive down.  I was relieved that he agreed to see me on such short notice.  After examining the tooth and taking an x-ray, he suggested that he drill into the remaining tooth and place a pin, sort of like dental rebar, he explained, into that opening, and then cover that with resin and shape it so that it looked like my original tooth.  I agreed, he did the procedure right then, it looked great, felt even better, and I was out the door with a $68 co-pay (and on my way to buy that @#$%& turkey!).  No root canal.  No crown.  No pain.  And it still looks and feels great and I chew on that molar all the time. On other teeth, he has done a root canal, a tooth extraction, a couple of crowns, a bridge, and several implants for me.  Other dentists who have seen his work marvel at his finished products.  As a result, I now drive to Dr. Evans' office for all of my dental needs.  Dr. Evans has a Masters degree in prosthodontics (cosmetic surgery) in addition to his DDS and is the only prosthodontist along the front range who has passed the rigorous Board examination making him the only Board-certified prosthodontist in the region.  He also has additional training in dental biomaterials.  Dr. Evans possesses both superior logical skills and exceptional artistic abilities and is a true perfectionist.  He is the nicest guy and he's very kind, happy, and patient.  He explains things well, answers all my questions in an easy-to-understand way, and accepts a wide variety of insurance plans.  He has a beautiful office, a wonderful assistant and hygienist and his staff is also friendly and very experienced and can easily tell you what your insurance will cover and in what amounts.  Dr. Evans has his own lab on the premises where all his pre-fabrication work is done including repairs to existing dentures.  He is like a one-stop-shop for all your dental needs. If you and your family are not being treated by Dr. Evans, you may not know what you're missing.  It doesn't get any better than this. As I've been saying for years, "Thank heavens for Dr. Evans!"

As several other reviews state on Yelp, this business is extremely shady in regards to billing practices. We learned through many encounters with them, that you need to keep copies of your signed treatment plans or they will change up the cost of the treatment and request more money. Despite having gone round and round with them for years with copies of our signed treatment plans, they continue to send bills. These bills aren't even itemized and they can't seem to ever describe what the amount is for. When we call the business to remedy, they "assure" us they will speak to the office manager. We are told the amount is resolved. And then we get another bill in the mail months later. This has now been going on for nearly 2 years.
