This traditional Bavarian restaurant is located along a footpath by the Rhine so I highly recommend going for a walk either before dining in order to work up an appetite (and while there is still light) or afterwards to aid in digestion. With the beautiful homes lining the path and the many ships gliding by, you won't regret it! The entire menu looks great but we were there for one thing and one thing only: the roast goose with dumplings and blaukraut (red cabbage). (Check out my tip - this is a special offered only for the holiday season). This is a traditional family dish that we have had every year and I dare say this was better than the one prepared by my father-in-law. The goose was juicy and delectable and the skin was crispy and full of flavor. The brown gravy that was served for the table went perfectly with the dumplings and the blaukraut. There is a bread basket full of Bavarian pretzels and German breads served with delicious garlic quark (yogurt like) waiting for you at the table but don't fill up with this, the plates are substantial. We had the grilled chicken with mushroom sauces it comes with fries and salad which all were fresh and tasty! The views are great and our server was super friendly which made this meal even better!
