Sonia and Janae are responsive and each of our child's teachers were exceptional. We recently had to move daycares because we ended up not buying a home near Primrose School of Hilburn. We were very sad to leave them, and we wish them the best! If there are any negatives, the 'carpool lane' is not always treated as a quick in and out, and you can often get stuck behind cars of parents that go inside and take their time getting out. The hours (7 AM to 6 PM) are a little shorter than other daycares we looked at. And, the holiday schedule seems to provide a few additional days off than we were accustomed to. We viewed each of these items as being very minor, and overall, we were very happy with our Primrose experience!

But the teachers and administrators worked so hard to ensure a smooth transition. They kept us up-to-date on his progress (and even called throughout the day to let us know that even with a rough drop off in the morning, he was having so much fun with his new friends shortly afterwards), and gave us tips to make the change easier. We have loved the teachers in every classroom that he has progressed to. With our youngest, there was no doubt he would also be joining his big brother. Dropping off an infant is always rough the first few weeks, but it was such natural experience at that point and the teachers are so caring with the babies, that I don't think a tear was shed (so different from my firstborn!). We love being able to follow their daily activities on their secure app, and they send us pictures throughout the day and summaries of what they learned and how we can continue with the lessons at home (ex. 'Toddlers did rhyming today, what kind of rhymes can you two come up with for the word xyz'). I had always thought that I would transfer our kids to preschool when the time came, but I see how much they learn every day at Primrose and know that we'll just make the switch to Kindergarten when the time comes. It's a great, involved school, where your kids are really cared for. All of the teachers, administrators, chef, etc know both of my kids by name and my toddler is always excited to give them hugs or run up for a high five. Extra bonus: It's close to Target so when we're in a rush to grab something on the way to pickup, we can always swing by Target for more diapers, etc.

Childcare Network was one of the few centers we contacted (and we contacted many) that provided straightforward information about when our baby could start. She began on the promised date and thrived in the infant room. I honestly think her sitting, crawling, and self-feeding happened about a month ahead of when I expected, thanks to the patient care of the staff. Everyone at the center, from the director to the cook, knows our baby's name and greets her enthusiastically as she arrives and goes home. He learned so many skills in their care and my working first time mom worries were minimal because we had such a good experience. When his school dates and my teaching workdays did not always line up, he came back for care during the summer several times. I had a coworker who also brought his child to Childcare Network because they were impressed with both what we had to say about the center and how happy our son was when they toured the facility. Despite it being nearly a decade later, when my second son was born in February 2024, we knew this was the first place we wanted to look for childcare options. I was pleasantly shocked that several employees knew and remembered my older son by name, and to comment on how much alike my sons look. It warms my heart to hear him greeted fondly by name by teachers from all classrooms and ages, not just those who care for him in the infant room. I am so grateful for the care and education both of my sons have received and the little one will continue to receive for the next several years. I am able to be a much better, healthier and happier working parent with their partnership.

One day, I…read morewas speaking Spanish with my coworker, and a substitute teacher (who worked for another company and would only come to The Growing years occasionally) assumed I was gossiping about her. She doesn't speak Spanish, so how could she be so sure? I was written up based on ASSUMPTIONS, not facts, and was later told I was no longer allowed to speak Spanish in the classroom. I was only "allowed" to speak my native language during lunch break. Because of this, I decided to quit. I found the whole situation deeply inappropriate, especially in a setting that should value diversity and inclusion. I also attempted to contact the regional director to report the situation, but my email was never answered. Working with children requires not just patience, but respect for them, for their families, and for the diverse professionals who care for them every day. Sadly, that respect was lost here.

After several phone calls and visits to centers in the Cary-Morrisville area we had no doubt that we wanted to go with the Growing Years in Cary. We talked to and met with Ms. Maureen and she put us completely at ease with regards to our son going to daycare full time. The atmosphere at the school was and always is calm, warm, and welcoming. The caregivers are pleasant, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable and our son has developed in leaps and bounds while he has been here. He is now almost four and wants to be the first to get to school and doesn't want to leave when I go to pick him up......this is the best testament to the wonderful place that is the Growing Years. It has fulfilled all our needs and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nurturing and safe place to have your child go to.
