The train station is easy to navigate through but there is still ongoing construction around the station that can be tricky. The station has a coffee shop, and a few other shops with light bites to purchase while you wait. There is also a bathroom but you will need to pay Euros (or a credit card I believe) to use it, which is pretty standard throughout Europe.

Originally one of Germany's small, but beautiful jewels of architecture, Darmstadt's main train…read morestation had been laid out in the strict, no frills early Art Deco style favored by Grand Duke Ludwig. Nice details are the main reception hall with the "distorted echo effect" and the daylight design of the entire building. Unfortunately, Darmstadt main station had not been kept up very well until recently and was bastardized by architectural Add-ons (my guess: early seventies). Recent rennovations are trying to do away with the stylistic rape. Let's see how well this goes - the early results are promising.

Follow the signs to the Regionalbahnhof at the airport. If you're at Terminal 2, you'll need to take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 1 and then follow the signs to the escalator downstairs. There, you'll find a ticket vending machines with optional languages including English. Easy to purchase a single pass into Frankfurt for an adult (I think it was €4.50) and the machine takes cash and cards. I had cash, so I don't know if it accepts US "swipe and sign" cards. The trains run On. Time. here with no kidding. The posted schedule says 10:01, the doors close at 10:00 and 45 seconds then the train starts moving as the second hand sweeps the 12. No kidding. Three stops on this line to the main station. Easy. Clean. Smooth. Much better than a taxi, I think.

One of Frankfurt's main train stations, this one is more of a "through" station than a terminus…read morelike the Hauptbahnhof but it still serves the U-Bahn and the S-Bahn. It is in the Sachsenhausen district that is south of the Main river. Easy pedestrian access and with plenty of road access, a block off the main Schweizer Straße that goes through all of Sachsenhausen. I found the station extremely easy to negotiate and exit, heading towards my restaurant for dinner.

I landed up here because we were wandering around South Frankfurt and I couldn't be all that…read morebothered walking back to the hotel, so I decided to come here. From looking at the transport map it seems as if this station is actually the terminus as opposed to the main station because it seems that a lot of the trains pass through the Frankfurt Bahnhof, go in a loop under the city, and end up here. The thing that stuck in my mind was the the queue at the McDonalds was horrendous. In fact it was so bad that we decided to jump on the train and get some dinner back at the main railway station.

Die Qualität der Produkte steht in keinem Verhältnis zu den Preisen, und der Kundenservice ist sehr schlecht. Ich kann diesen Laden absolut nicht empfehlen und werde definitiv nicht wiederkommen.
