Plus $126 to replace a fuse! $431 total. When I called to express my concerns (twice) I was not permitted to speak with a supervisor, was advised the CS rep would fill out a form and be the 'go-between' and I would hear from them in 5 days. Was further advised that Moore doesn't charge by the hour...they charge by the 'job'. Three jobs in under an hour! A $2 fuse! One of their competitors advised they would charge $125 service fee...and $125 an hour. That's $250 vs. the $431 Moore charged me. (The only reason I went with Moore because the TC location did a nice job 18 months ago quoting and installing central air here). I feel as though I was treated very unfairly by the Cadillac office. ADDENDUM--it gets even better! After about four days I received a call from Travis, a supervisor with Moore Mechanical to discuss my complaint. All Travis did for nearly 20 minutes on the phone was try to justify over-charging me for a standard visit and a fuse replacement. This went (ridiculously) on and on, as he attempted to explain to me why this service (in a rural Michigan county) costs THREE TIMES what the same service costs me in suburban Chicago, how the service call was really THREE functions that took place in just under an hour. 1. Arriving $130. 2. Evaluation $175 3. Replacing a fuse and removing a safety switch $126. So...Travis' implication was that I could have refused services #2 and #3 and paid ANOTHER vendor ANOTHER service fee to start all over. Also that if the service had taken 2 or three hours (it didn't) the cost would have been the same...so I actually was not understanding the "value" Moore was providing! Silly me! Finally...after I heard "I'm sorry you feel that way" three times, and realized I was not going to receive any consideration, just more lip service, I politely ended our conversation. THEN their service tech called me....for 'round two' I suppose. I was done. Anyway....it's long and windy but I feel as though other consumers should be aware of the "value" they can look forward to when dealing with pricing that is strategically designed to serve only one purpose....to enrich Moore Mechanical.
