We were looking for an inexpensive, out-in-the-country place while visiting friends in the Bonn & Cologne area, and we hit the mark here in the Landhotel Haus Steffans. This is a typical countryside German inn, extremely sturdily built, but modernized on the inside. The breakfast buffet was the typically excellent German fair, where you can eat so much you might not even be hungry for lunch. Too bad the restaurant was temporarily closed--we were there in the off-season, and the owner's wife was sick, so we had to eat elsewhere.
