We had a fantastic and all too brief time here at Landhaus Reverchon.
We were blessed with some sunshine after a week of light rain and overcast clouds during the first week in Germany.
The wines are lovely and they specialize in dry organic farmed Rieslings (as much of this area). Great to be paired with light suppers and cheese vs heavier meat dishes or stews. A surprise was the Pinot Noir red - which was perfect for the evening. The sparkling wines are well balanced with subtle carbonation.
After the tasting we enjoyed the evening with new friends drinking more of the wine in the patio with the sun resting on our shoulders.
We spent the day exploring the Konz area. Not a lot to see but a few historical fires including some Roman ruins. The bike path into Konz (about 4km) was so picturesque and we really enjoyed our run there alongside the Saar River.
A nice add-on for the future could be to visit the wine storage area or a tour of the vineyard or watching the winemaking in process - depending upon the time of the year. read more
