Cath Kidston does all sorts of bags and accessories. Think backpacks, tote bags, handbags, wallets, luggage tags, makeup pouches etc. The quality of their stuff is great too - Some things, like the tote bags, are available in oil cloth which is great because it's water-resistant. You don't need to worry about your bag soaking up all that rainwater on a pouring day! I love how each item is available in a bunch of different prints. A lot of their themes are florals - one of my favorites is a sort of rose garden-esque pattern set among a cream-colored background. I also really like one that features colorful birds. Since this is a UK brand, some of their patterns are quite 'English', like prints of the London bus and of English nutcracker soldiers. Their prints change every season, so this kind of compels me to come into Cath Kidston whenever I pass by it to see what's new! Unfortunately, Cath Kidston is a little pricey - an oil cloth tote bag will set you back more than $250. But if you think about it, it's something that's of great quality and can be reused all the time. They do have end-of-season sales with items going at up to 40% off, so it's definitely worth checking out then! Besides bags and accessories, they also do things like kitchenware and toiletries, such as hand cream sets and lip balms. The toiletries all smell heavenly floral - but nothing too overpowering. The kitchenware is adorable! I would love to throw out all our boring plates and cups and trade them for the ones that are available here. If you're looking to get a good gift for a friend's birthday, you just might find what you want here. And come soon - they're having a ton of sales at the moment before they clear out the stock for the upcoming season, so there's no better time than right now!

It's across the road from my apartment so when I first moved in it only made sense to give the place a visit, after all my home as naked of furniture. I walked into MAFDC with a set budget, eager to see how I could fill my living room and roof. I thought, by judging the stores outside, that I could get a couple of things, a table and set of chairs at least. The phrase, don't judge a book by its cover springs to mind. The store offers a decent standard of furniture with nothing (that I saw) under the $500 apart from the odd chair or stool. It's a long store with leather couches filling along the entire way. On either side the walls are lined with shelfs, cupboards, drawers, and a sign reading "custom made!", which I assume just means adding another 0 to the price for a choice of color. I walked from the entrance to the far end where the counter is and asked about outdoor furniture. The lady behind the counter simply pointed to a catalogue filled with all sorts of things. Primarily I was going for a parasol. They had one going for $650 with an average delivery time of 15 days, I have no idea if that's a good price or not, but I figured I'd need a table to eat on first before worrying about pimping up my rooftop! I asked her about her cheapest table and chairs, or if she had any discounts. She obviously wasn't used to dealing with customers like me and I highly underestimated the standard of the store. I left but promised myself to research the price of parasols... I probably should have put a time limit on that promise.

The ITEMS SHOWCASED IN THE ENTRY AREA of the store mostly contains the "non-cigar" stuff such as Humidors, handcrafted Ashtrays, Lighters, Punch-cutters and other cutters, bottles of Cognacs, Single malt scotch, etc.They are well-arranged and definitely add to the overall aesthetics of the store. Whenever I step into the store, I always take a moment to admire these amazing works-of-art, in case I find something interesting! In fact, that's how I bought the amazing glass-blown Ashtray (see attached pics). The REAL STUFF lies in the room behind the cashier counter, i.e. WHERE THE CIGARS ARE STORED. The constantly-running dehumidifier always reassures me that - "yes, these cigars would always be in their best condition". That's where you can pick the cigars and evaluate them... during this time, the staff are also happy to field any questions regarding the strength, flavor/notes, enjoyment time, etc. They always remind me whether I want to earn the reward points or rather use existing points to settle the bill. This is a family owned business that a father and son runs and they are very kind and are willing to work together with you for a product that you will like. They are right next to Sam's however I would say you are getting the same quality for better service at a better price. Know your materials, and know what styles you want before hand. They can only show you examples, but you yourself must know what you want. Their turn over for producing a shirt was much faster as they were ready the next day, and small fixes were even available the same day. They were very friendly and talkative so I felt a sense of higher transparency while going through this process. Don't be afraid to ask questions and tell them if something isn't how you want it to be! They were very willing to work together with me. Be prepared to go for multiple fittings! I fitted my shirt twice. If you want your shirt to fit right the first time, that is just how it should be. The shirts I got fit amazing and I am very happy with this experience.

Little did I know that I might stumble upon this gem when I was on my way to the Café Pacific inside Shui On Centre. As I was taking the escalator to the second floor, I could not help but notice on my left was this colourful store that had stuffed animals, school bags, books on display and I was like "That looks cool". And it only got better. Turns out this place is called Bookazine and it has branches everywhere in Hong Kong. As a bookstore, Bookazine of course provides selection of magazines, stationery. However, the best part is that it has CANDY STAND there and the variety of candies there are unbelievable, most are from the States and I immediately acted like a school boy literally in a candy store grabbing all kind of sweet. Apart from that, they always have tote bags, greet cards, etc. On top of that, they also have kids corner (which is really thoughtful as the grownups are reading, the kids can read some children books or choose to relax throwing beanbags there). They mainly sell English books so now you have one more place to go to look for your books except Metro and the other one. On their website you may also order books there and have the delivery or pickup at the store as well. I would say that this is one of the best bookstores I have seen in Hong Kong with its superb service and most importantly, the candy stand... Actually I am quite surprised to have found this place as it is really hidden and I did not see one single customer there when I was there on that day... well, good for me to spend some alone time there then.
