Ignore the negative reviews. They are old. Lakeside Villas Apartments has been my home for the past 2 years. Kathy is awesome and very quick to respond to any questions or needs. The maintenance department is amazing with quick responses to any issues that might come up. It is close to several parks, shopping and many other amenities. We have a pool, fitness room and have several social events throughout the year. I highly recommend getting on the list if you are interested in moving to a great area. read more

The other reviews are pretty old. Since then, there is new management. Maintenance is exceptional! I call, and they are here same day to look at issue and fix right away. I've only called twice, but they were really attentive both times. It's usually very quiet and the perfect area for walking my dogs. Two parks are within walking distance. Never before have I seen a worse managed apartment complex. And this is coming from somebody who has lived at one that had only one office staff who was there only half the time. Lakeside Villas is worse! My wife an I decided to live there because we thought it would be nice. The apartment we saw was quiet, didn't seem to have any walls in common with neighbors, and was a reasonable rent for a 2-bedroom apartment on the top floor. However, when we finally started moving in, we didn't realize what we had gotten into. The first problem was that the apartment was filthy. We had to scrub and vacuum every surface to remove the obvious traces of the previous tenant. There were multitudes of animal hair (including a fist-sized ball in one of the closets), candle wax, food crumbs, and human urine (albeit, on the outside of the toilet). All these amounted in several days worth of work. The hard wood floor which we were paying extra for was installed poorly. There were gaps in the wood near every corner, as well as several places where the panels would dip into the floor, being supported by God-knows-what. Once we cleaned the entire apartment and put rugs down on the mockery of a wood floor, we were further surprised to discover that (a) we DID have a common wall with our neighbor, albeit a tiny one in the room where we were going to make our daughter's, and (b) our neighbors smoked. Having just moved to Ohio from Texas, I was surprised to see signs posted on all the buildings saying "No Smoking", in accordance with some Ohio code. Sadly, I assumed this meant that the entire apartment building was nonsmoking. Apparently, it just applies to the common areas, and not the apartments themselves. The hilarious part about this is that the hallways of our apartment seemed to always reek of cigarette smoke after we moved in. I would imagine that this sort of thing is exactly what the Ohio code was meant to put a stop to. Since it doesn't prevent people from smoking in their apartments, you pretty much have to deal with the people next door stinking up your apartment with their cigarette smoke. Even if you have a young child and your wife has asthma which is worsened by breathing smoke. Since I didn't want raise my child in a humidor, my wife and I tried to break the lease after a week, citing health concerns. Turns out the office staff, at least half of which smokes, doesn't really care if your wife can't breathe the air your neighbor pollutes, or if your daughter gets long-term health problems from inhaling second-hand smoke. At any given time, half the apartment would have the stale smell of a smoker's home, or worse. What gets me worse is that the office staff wasn't more understanding towards the fact that they were making us live in an unlivable apartment. So, we ended our lease, but still had to pay the remainder of our lease. On that day, we learned a very painful $10,000 lesson in the process. If you, like me, want to the right to breathe fresh air in your own home, as much as anybody else has the right to breath carcinogenic air in their own home, I strongly recommend avoiding Lakeside Villas. I lived at Lakeside Villas and love it. I only moved because I moved to the other side of town... The management was so friendly and always want to help. If there were any problems, maintenance always fixed them quickly. I loved the pool and fitness room and used them both as much as I could. Best apartment I ever lived at! read more

Agree with previous review. Management is terrible. They have no compassion or concern for the tenants. I couldn't even get maintenance to my apartment the entire time I lived there and fixed my own toilet! In addition, do not let them show you any unit prior to move in. They do the bait and switch and you'll end up in a unit NOTHING like the one they showed you. I was shown an apartment with walk in closets and a full laundry room and was given one without either! I asked if I could move to a different unit when one became available and was told not until my lease was up. Management consists of two fairly young women -- neither of which has any idea how to manage an apartment complex. Also the walls are very thin. It's like living in a cheap motel. You can hear everything your neighbors do. The fitness center is a joke consisting of nothing but two treadmills, one elliptical and a weight station. Even though the sign says under 18 with parent it's always full of young kids trying to weight lift. The heated pool is their only redeeming quality. And finally it seems the average age is around 55 -- you would think it was a retirement community if you visit the pool. I would not recommend and am moving as I write this review. I have been very unhappy for one full year and can't wait to put this experience behind me! read more
