Booked the tour along with some friends and Mother Nature smiled on us and gave us some spectacular weather. It's a bit of a drive from Seattle but well worth it. There are some fun diversions along the way if you want to stop and get some farm fresh eggs and vegetables too. Did you know that about 20% of the electricity in Seattle comes from these dams? We were able to book a tour for the day after, but I recommended calling in advance as they also have the morning tour which includes lunch and seems to book much faster. We did that one a couple of years ago. There several hike trails, we did the one that ends by the water falls which was fairly easy. There are black bears around but we didn't run into any. There is also access to the water if you like to kayak or float. Oh and near the visitor center they have WiFi!

This place had someone who answered the phone and soothed my weepy nerves, offering me a number of ideas for various places that might help, and saying they were happy to help if I wanted to get the creature to them out on Bainbridge. I made the trek, and they agreed to check him out and euthanize him if necessary. They charged me nothing. (I did offer a donation to cover their services, which they gratefully accepted.) The lovely folks at this shelter helped make a sad event manageable. I am so appreciative.

We hired Miguel from standard insulation to go in and remove all of the insulation and replace it with building code required insulation throughout the house. Miguel, the owner of standard insulation and his crew did a fabulous job throughout the house. I have been in the insulation business for 40 years and I've never seen anyone better than Miguel. he is a rockstar!!! The crew is friendly and fast. He follows up and has made extra trips to make sure the plumbing was done properly before installing insulation and vapor barrier. He found a leak under our building that we were unaware of and notified us so that we could fix it before it became a bigger problem.
