They have two convenient locations downtown, and offer so much more than just honey. They also carry skin care products, such as bath bombs, hand and body soap, lotions, and more. My mother in law is obsessed with their lotion bars, we get her one ever year for the holidays. It's a great place to shop for gifts, they even have candles, jewelry, drink ware, and I love the bees wax reusable food wraps they sell. They also sell packages of Asheville Tea Company, who were also on site for this event with tea samples. Tea and honey, what a perfect combo. I tried their seasonal apple cider tea, and their black tea, both were fabulous. Thanks to both companies for supplying some tea packets and sticks of honey as takeaways. My favorite thing about the Bee Charmer is their tasting bar. You can try just about any honey they sell. I tried the Firecracker first and it was definitely spicy, but not the spiciest honey they sell (they have a Ghost pepper honey too!) I also sampled their cocoa honey and I could really taste the hints of chocolate in it. They have all kinds of honey flavors- sweet, savory, spicy, herbal- you name it. This is such a great shop to have in our community!

Although this market place offers a variety of different products this time of the year it's all about apples. The sorting is underway so many types and sizes, I'm definitely not an expert so I rely on those that know the distinct characteristics because I couldn't tell the difference between a great baking apple and the ones that are meant to get fresh from the tree and immediately eaten. This is a big place complete with apple sorting capabilities and staffed by experts in the gentle handing process to ensure the fruit maintains its integrity. The front of the building is lined with unloading docks that had a few apple growers unloading their crop. It's a big business but this place still has that small town mom and pop feel, I didn't opt for an apple education but I'm sure these guys know everything you'd ever want to know about apples the staff was very friendly and accommodating - I purchased a giant fresh picked tomato for my much anticipated BLT, so deliciously ripe, juicy, mouthwatering and spot free. 3,700th Review What…read morea find, while driving the switchbacks and mountain roads between Chimney Rock, NC and Hendersonville I was amazed to see the number of roadside apple stands and apple processing facilities. I guess this should of been no surprise being this area is known as "Apple Valley" - as luck would have it I'm here during the peak of apple season and these vendors are gearing up for another profitable tourist season. I've always loved fried fruit pies and I couldn't resist pulling off the road when I spotted this little "food truck" advertising home made fried pies and funnel cakes. They say it's all in a name and I guess that is what initially grabbed my attention, but for me it's really about the quality of the product and I'd risk disappointment to try this little pie shop out just from the look of this place. It's a very simple but well manicured site, with lots of colorful signage that is designed to capture the attention of anyone driving down Chimney Rock Road. Although the tip jar was overfilled from customers showing their appreciation, there was only one customer waiting when we arrived and Nana was finishing putting his order together so I had the place to myself to explore and strike up a conversation with the proprietor. Although there are many choices here when it comes to fruit pies, there was no doubt I'd be choosing a made from scratch apple pie - it appears Papa has other responsibilities in this little operation (filling propane bottles, landscaping and taking out the trash) to name a few, but it's clear that Nana is responsible for making the fillings and the pie crust although after speaking with them they definitely work this little business as a team. The fillings are fresh made and are stored in a small chilled table beside the counter used to roll the dough to order, these pies are put together after you place your order there is no inventory sitting under heat lamps or inside cases. I was fortunate enough to watch the process first hand. What I loved the best besides eating the actual pie was the filling it's not overly sweet allowing a hint of tartness to come alive inside your mouth, the little wrappers that she slides the pies into that allows you to eat it comfortably without making a mess, this is definitely a road trip treat. Warning - since these pies are served fresh from the hot grease there is a opportunity to burn your mouth so as much as you want to jump in and enjoy these pies immediately I would recommend you wait more than a few minutes and also have a cool refreshing drink available just in case you are impatient and can't wait or didn't read this part of the review. Wonderful people serving delicious fried pies at very reasonable prices...

I originally went in to see if they had apple cider. They make it fresh every day on the machinery which is visible through the clear windows at the cash register. Lovely elderly lady apologized for running out of the fresh cider, but amazingly enough they had frozen in the plastic bottles of various sizes from pints upward. We stopped her on the way to Knoxville, TN and were so delighted that we came back and bought more on the way home to Charleston, SC. If you see the Saluda exit, take it and the store is up a hill across from the gas station.

They will let you try the homemade cider as well as the apple butter and strawberry they have made up. You will see lots of homemade jar items as well as homemade wood items. The place is ran by the owners which makes it even a better experience. The daughter was there while we were looking around and then her Mother came in. Very friendly and told us about the apple press and that her Mom makes all the canned items along with her help as well. What an amazing place they had been here for 30+ years. If you were to stop while they worked you would be able see behind them is a clear glass to the press. The Mom said she would be making more jar items soon. The stuff we tried was good. She does make sugar free for those who can not have sugar. We enjoyed stopping in and had great conversation with them both. The next time we are in the area if they are open we will stop again for sure! Oh and they sell the cider frozen so you don't have to worry about keeping it cold if your traveling , make sure to stop here if your in the area!
