We rented one of their campers for 2 nights (family of 5). The camper was in great shape and had enough space for us. We brought our own linens and pillows, but there were some provided also. This campground is a majority "seasonal" campers who purchase their spot/lot for the entire season (May-Oct) and either stay there that entire time, or visit as they wish. For that reason, many of the campers have wooden decks and a sense of "permanence". The campground is very nice - it is quiet (very quiet - if you want to party, this isn't your place), well maintained, wooded, clean, and tranquil. We used the bath house instead of using the camper and the bathrooms were clean with plenty of hot water ! We had no wait to use the showers. The property felt very safe and the owners have a strong presence as they live within walking distance of the campground. My 3 kids loved the pool, and I loved sitting in the shade and watching them play while I read a book ! Oh there is a playground also that my kids enjoyed. They met some other kids there which is nice. We brought our own food, but we also bought hot dogs, burgers, and tacos at the little shop. The owner sells LuLa Roe clothing and it is set up in the store, and I loved looking at the clothes too. Since this is only about 2 hours away from our home in North Oakland County, I can definitely see us returning since the kids had so much fun. Next time we hope to take some day trips. We have no plans to purchase a camper, so we would likely rent a camper again, or their small cabin (no water). We had no issues with the campground wi-fi when allowing our kids to stream shows before bedtime, and there was a TV with DVD in the camper - it only had 2 channels, but we were able to watch the news. read more

Rude. This campground is nice the game room, pool and camp sites were well kept. The owner "double booked" the the camper we were meant to rent for the weekend. We did not receive a phone call to make us aware of the situation. The camper that was available for us to use was right next to the road and camp store. As I understood it the camper belonged to the owners parents. It was full of their personal belongings which did not leave room for our things. We actually had to take the infant bed and toys out of the camper and carry it to the camp store so there would be room for our children to sleep. When this was brought to the owners attention she stated "you don't have to stay here". The camper was clean and in good working order, however it had a strong oder of moth balls. In the laundry facilities there were only 3 washers and 3 dryers that worked. When I entered the facility all of the washers were filled with wet clothes that appeared to be abandoned. So I removed them from the washer and placed them on the laundry table and proceeded to wash the towels that we used from the camper. As I was waiting for the washer the owner's mother approached me angrily and stated "I need these washers, I'm cleaning and I want to go home." I offered to remove my clothes from the washer but she stormed off. Later the owner approached me and verbalized that she (the mother) was working and scolded me for touching the washer. Also the playground equipment was in poor repair and the swings were not anchored to the ground. We took our kids to a nearby park to play on safer equipment. To sum it up this place has potential but the owners need to take a class on customer service. When I pay to stay somewhere for the weekend I don't expect to be treated as if I'm imposing on the hosts. I will NOT return. read more

Lake George Campgrounds

The staff made me feel unwelcome. They gave me the impression that they did not want weekend campers there. They charged 2.00 a day per device for internet which I thought was expensive. We had to buy wood for our campfire and all the wood we bought was wet which resulted in more of a smoke fest then a campfire. Most of the people who camp there were 50+ years old and rented for the season. There were many old folks driving around on golf carts with their yapping dogs. If you want a family friendly camping experience look elsewhere this is not for you. read more
