I looked at the hours that they are open - checking here on Yelp, I knew I could make it in time before closing. I was there 10 minutes before closing. They said they would not help me. They were done. The times are a lie. They close early. This place should not have the time set at 4:30 as closing on a week day. They close at 4 or maybe earlier, who knows? If there was another option on the mountain, I would have used them. They have us over a barrel here and they do not care that they give erroneous information on Yelp. I'm a new homeowner in Skyforest, renting equipment a few times a year, this being the first from LAR. Great equipment, new or like-new condition. He carries the good stuff. Glen and the other employee (forget his name) are super helpful and easy to work with. The owner was also helpful, I saved money because of him. Called ahead to confirm equipment rental. Drove 35 minutes and arrived at 3:45. Woman yells, "WE"RE CLOSED"!!! I point at THERE clock that reads 4 o clock!!! and said, " the sign on your door says you are open until 4PM" I still have 15 minutes? She said too bad I already closed down the register. I also spoke to your husband and he told me to come on over. Woman was rude and complained to her husband so now he won't rent to my company. Who does business like this? We always get our sand and gravel from here. Staff has always been polite and helpful. The product is good quality without other unknown particles in it. I don't know any other place on the mountain to get this stuff. I looked around inside and it looks like they rent just about anything. read more

I went to Home Depot near hospitality to rent a pole saw and brought it back up to Crestline to cut branches over my roof only to find out the dull blade wouldn't even cut a cedar. Took it back, got my money back, found out about Lake Arrowhead Rentals and thought I'd give them a try (I like supporting local mountain businesses). The price to rent it for the day was literally half of what Home Depot would've charged me and the saw was EXCELLENT, the blade was super sharp and cut like butter. On the last branch (I was cutting from the top) it kinda bent toward me (it was a large branch) and pinched and twisted the bar, a freak accident. I took it back to them and Joe gave me the bar and told me to run down the street to try to replace it so he wouldn't have to charge me a bunch to repair it. I tried but they didn't have it. He said to let him see what he could do and called several days later to tell me he found an extra bar in his shop and charged me a very nominal fee to fix it. Now that I know these guys are here they are getting ALL my business for sure!! Gotta support the mountain folk and these guys are fair and top notch read more

Never go to that place. They close at 4.30. I came at 4.20 and they told me come tomorrow because they close. 5 min later another costoumer came and they also didn't want to servise him. They very rough with costumers . But it's only one place at mountain Year later I come to that place. They change crew. Super nice workers and they know what they doing. I rented trailer and sand . All trailers for sand was rent out . They even let me use trailer that is not for sand . When I came for second load I met owner ( for firs load he was very friendly and helpful), so when I came for second load he was asking me about 1 star review and I thought that as owner he want find out what exactly happened. By the way year ago I pick up 2 loads and before come for second load I called to that place and owner pick up phone and told that if I will come before 4.30 they will load me. Now owner was super rough and told me that I need to remove my review if I still want to be a customer. My point is that owner was super nice and friendly in morning, but he change his mind only because of my year old review. He said that he don't give a F...CK what happened year ago but this person is gone now . So it was no apologies from owner for rough ex-workers only what he don't give a F...CK . I have been renting tools from these guys for years they have always had what I needed. Plus the equipment worked just fine.

I decided to rent a Bobcat S130 locally for two days since I recently purchased property up there. I called to schedule a rental and talked to a guy that was polite and very informative. He gave me all details and rates. I usually go through places like Home Depot or other yards in the past so with dealing with this business was new to me. The day before the Bobcat was delivered, I went in there to do the paperwork and was surprised on how much equipment this place had. Everything you can think of. I thought it was going to be a Mom and Pop type business. Again the person behind the counter was polite and informative. The Bobcat was delivered on time the next day It was in great shape and performed well. It was clean. No unexpected surprises. read more
