A bit like a travel back in time. Deep in Caithness, a wonderful, under - rated area, an old time tea shop in the middle of nowhere. Was following a Neil Gunn route, and needed a scone. Got in just before a busload of tourists who invaded the toilets and assaulted the home baking. However, the coffee was great and the person who supplied the home baking should be nominated for a National Treasure Award.
Neil M. Gunn, our finest novelist, is all over this area. A heritage centre, a statue of one of his most enthralling characters, his Strath (where you can go searching for the Source AND the Well at the World's End). And then, pop up here for some tea or coffee and monumental cake.
