The idea of Lagoa Yoga is as close as it gets to the ideal gym for me. There is never loud annoying "workout music", there are no men lifting weights and moaning in order to show off their strength and effort, there is a quiet area to read and nap, a sauna, enough cardio machines, TRX equipment, weights and really cool classes.
Yoga is supposed to be its strength but to be honest I think the best are actually the Pilates, ballet bar, and deep work classes. Being a yoga teacher in training I am quite picky and impatient when it comes to yoga classes and non of the vinyasa flow classes actually flow, but instead it's a series of interconnected postures with a fitness twist. Somehow I end up feeling like I just took a Pilates class every time I finish one.
Bare in mind that I'm a little picky, most of the ladies seem to love these yoga classes. And all of the instructor and trainer are adorable, polite, friendly and always smiling. That's a big plus and I'm satisfied with the place. There's always free cardio machines, and space in the fitness room and spots in the classes if one makes it on time. :) read more
