The menu was paired down, but everything was still delicious and the service was great. We had an amusing misunderstanding when I asked for a shot of what I thought was Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur), but turned out to be amaro (same bottle that was shaped like a monk). A little pointing at the bar and we were good to go. Hubs again liked his pizza and the wine went well with our selections. But oh, that cacio e pepe. I've had the dish many times and made it myself, usually good for when you want something nice and simple but delicious. Theirs was on a whole other level. Still simple but somehow had the depth and substance of a West Wing script. It was so good it has spoiled all other cacio e pepe for us. In time I'm sure the memory will fade and I'll be able to eat subpar cacio e pepe again. Until then, the memory will have to do.
