We are in town for some biking and camping and we saw the big red building off the highway on the way in. I was so excited to finally (try on) the overalls and pick out my first pair! The cold snap (and the fact we were winter camping) helped me land on a fleece lined pair. The absolutely LOVE them. I was between sizes and happily sized up so I can have layering options. They're like my favorite pair of snow bibs but cuter!! So, about the store. It was big, clean, and well organized. There was quite a bit on clearance when we were there, so I also grabbed some base layers.

I was in Fayetteville for a wedding and the dress I brought for the rehearsal dinner was too thin for the fall weather, so a friend recommended I check this place out. I didn't have a lot of time and I was skeptical because in my experience, similar boutiques rarely carry sizes and styles for curvy girls but Liz, the owner, was welcoming and extremely helpful. I enjoyed champagne while we pulled items for me to try on and after a couple of tries I found the perfect dress that I will wear a million more times. On top of that, all dresses were 25% off! They just opened about a month ago and the store is very cute, I love the decor and the layout feels very welcoming. Another impressive thing about 59th and 9th is that they have a plus size section, which I have never seen at similar style boutiques, but is much needed. As I was headed out Liz recommended I check out another new business next door that was having an open house, so not only was she helpful to me in her store, she is a good neighbor! Not at all the same store or same state this is a negative of yelp where they don't take down incorrect bad reviews.

I am one of those ridiculous bargain shoppers who gets a thrill looking for the good deal. In this store there are definitely some amazing deals to be had for clothing, but there is a lot of work to get to it. This is where retail outlets send the absolute last things remaining, so you have to appreciate much of what ends up here has minor damage, or not so minor damage, or may have been miss-sized or made incorrectly or something to account for the fact it was sold for pennies on the dollar. But mixed in with all this damaged stuff are the jewels that you'll have to have a lot of time and patience to find. I recommend getting on their mailing list, as they will tell you when they have large events, and you get additional discounts on occasion. I have attended these events when they got a giant shipment of swimwear and have picked up swimwear in hard to find sizes for $3-4 a piece. I've gotten formal dresses for $10-15, nice brand shoes for $10-$20, name brand workout ware for $3-8, etc etc. My last trip through I got 2 French Connection brand sweaters that retail for $120 for $15 each. So if you are a person who finds thrill in the hunt, and has the time to hunt, come check this out and get on the mailing list. Just be sure to try on everything and go over it very carefully, as sometimes the damage is not immediately obvious. Happy Hunting!
