I was only in Playa del Carmen for two days, and he was incredibly flexible--after evaluation, he even arranged a driver for my CT scan and had me back in no time. His pricing was clear and fair, and he stuck to his word--no hidden fees, no surprises, which made the whole experience even better. He made a dental impression for a crown and told me to return in just a couple of hours--unbelievable compared to the weeks it takes back in the U.S.! He kindly showed me the laser dental machine that created a precise 3D model --it looked like that "Leeloo's DNA rebuild machine" straight out of sci fi movie The Fifth Element! It was the only time I've had a crown placed with ZERO adjustments needed. I even squeezed in a teeth cleaning with Leny, his hygienista--she was super friendly and gave me great tips on places to visit in PDC. Because Dr. Delgado was so efficient and got everything done in one day, he freed up my second day--and I was even able to take a trip to Tulum!

While we aporeciate the quick fix, this place does NOT provide long term solutions for dental care. My feeling is that our assigned dentist (used to be a "body piercing artist") has a lot of potential, BUT does not have the experience to be doing anything more than cleanings at this point. We had an impossible time following up and making plans/arrangements for repair of previous work done via phone. We were never able to reach anyone via phone to make a plan for repair. We showed up in person and had a difficult time communicating with staff regarding the issue with previous work done. End result: Partially our fault for not being fluently bi-bilingual... Previous work (fillings and chip repair) was a temporary fix and did not last 6 months *sadness* Lesson learned. When it matters, just spend the money and get dental done right the first time in the U.S.A. They clearly have lessor standards of quality and experience requirements here in Mexico *sad face*

No one explained a private hospital, and the RUI resort put us in a taxi and we had no idea as we've never been in this situation before. We filled out the paperwork, and then started asking some questions. We have BCBS, good insurance in the USA. However, this hospital was aging to make us wait over an hour and charge us a minimum of $2500 US dollars for a small and uncomplicated suture. CRAZY!! SCAM SCAM SCAM

They coordinated with our hotel's doctor and prepared for our arrival. The triage doctor was extremely professional and efficient. She was clear with the plan from the beginning. The nurses and hospital staff were all so kind. The other doctors who worked in the "urgencias" area of the hospital were incredible. I will say, they did not initiate treatment until we paid a large sum of $$ in USD. I am a nurse in the US and knew that my father needed to have an endoscopy regardless of how much is cost due to hallmark symptoms of an upper GI obstruction. The surgeon was kind, knowledgeable and made my dad feel comfortable (he's a very anxious guy at the doctor to start, then add out of the country!). In summary: The doctors at the facility speak very clear english. The equipment they use is comparable to what we have in the states, the facilities are clean/well kept. They were very clear with their plan. The healthcare provided at this location exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend this facility enough for tourist. Good healthcare out of the country may seem like it can hard to find... pay the money and get it done somewhere safe like here!

Sadly, I have to give 1 star to the hospital…read more We were on vacation in Cancun are and our toddler needed in urgent care assistance - he had blood coming out of his mouth (which was very scary - I'm sure every parent will understand - especially in a foreign country). He was also generally unhappy and fussy for a couple of days prior to that. It also felt like he has fever. Seeing the blood makes you have to think very quickly! After a quick research, we found Galenia - it was highly recommended by multiple sources, including this Yelp page. Of course, we went there and our son was admitted in the ER. He was seen about 30-40 minutes after we came in, which was acceptable. Luckily there was no new blood coming our of our son's mouth... We were told in advance that we would need to pay around $350 for ER services. It felt like extremely high for Mexico, but we didn't have a choice so we decided to stay and wait. When a nurse was ready to see us, turned out they DON'T have any pediatrician on staff at the moment. Whoops! Well, ok, a "regular" doctor should suffice since it's an emergency for us. Hopefully the doctor will apply common sense to the situation. The nurse has taken vitals from our son... Another 20 minutes and the doctor came. He spent about 5 minutes looking at our son and concluded that the blood in the mouth may be related to an extreme allergic reaction to pineapples that our son was eating when that happened. Nothing life-threatening. Ok - good to hear! There was also fever and the doctor concluded that it'll just go away and nothing needs to be done, outside of giving him fever reducing medications. We got a few medications prescribed. Paying $354 for that felt a little high, but that's alright, we've taken the time from someone else's time in the Emergency Room, so it's understandable. Next thing I did is picking up the prescribed medicine. It wasn't very cheap, but that was ok... Fast-forward to the late evening of the same day; I'm unpacking the medicine and seeing that each of the 3 different medicines that the doctor has prescribed are strongly NOT recommended to be taken for children under 3 years old - it said that straight up on the package. Yikes! Well, we are definitely not giving that to our son. The doctor hasn't mentioned anything about it. Chances are, he just does not know what can and can not be prescribed to children, since he is not a pediatrician... We avoided giving the medication to our son. However, his condition wasn't improving much. Three days later, we arrived back into the US, went straight to our pediatrician. Turns out, our son has (1) thrush, and (2) ear infection. Thrush was bad. Ear infection was REALLY BAD. We had to be taking two different types of antibiotics for the length of 25 days afterwards for it to treat! I wish the doctor would look into the ears, which I know pediatricians normally do when children have fever, and notice that it's REALLY BAD. None of the medications were originally prescribed to treat neither thrush nor ear infection. And of course, our pediatrician confirmed that the medicine that was prescribed would make our son ever more miserable if we gave it to him, since it wasn't made for toddlers. The doctor was just NOT qualified to see our son. What a waste of money and time; it made our lives truly MISERABLE for the following 2-3 weeks. I wish they had a pediatrician on staff to see kids; or were upfront about it so that we had time to go to a ER that would have one. Be on the look out for that, and definitely try to find an urgent care somewhere else first if it's not a life-threatening situation, since this place charges tourists an arm and a leg.

My reply to a question on messages:…read more Re: "Dentaris Riviera Maya" & Dr. J. Berron DDS, Cancun: Sorry I just saw this. Yes, we are happy to continue recommending Dr. Joaquin Berron @ Cancun. We knew Joaquin when he was on the LSU Dental Faculty, teaching "Prosthodontology" under Art Mendez, and like them both. Berron is much more personable. If considering a trip, some considerations are: 1) How easy is it for YOU to go back-&-forth? 2) How much work do you need? 3) Do you like & feel safe in Mexico? 4) Do you have a local. Family Dentist for minor follow-up services? Berron & his staff/facility are BETTER than any dental operation we've been to in the USA. He gives detailed plans with cost & options ahead of time. Their Achilles' heel was the slow dental prosthetics lab, which took a week to make permanent devices. Then, if there were any problem, it would take a week to fix it. Berron is dedicated to providing World class services; so I'd bet the lab issue has already been fixed since our last visit around 2018. If one lives where there are direct flights; the best may be to go home for a week, then go back to finish. In our several experiences there, we found that the dental costs, plus the costs of the vacations, still beat U S prices. Also, I cannot speak for any of the other practices in "Dentaris Riviera Maya", which seems a loosely associated group with separate office facilities. Dr. Berron is quite expert at doing his own extractions & grafting, so most services are one-stop. If these considerations fit you, do consider going. We stayed at the local LaQuinta Hotel, but there are many other options at the beach. Once you see the quality, expertise, & detailed care; you will be confident. The entire operation is World Class. They will advise on, or even handle, some ravel details and provide local pick-up & drop-off for dental visits (only). The visit preparations resemble a concierge service in many ways. The only negative we found in our several visits was the slow prosthetics lab. Dr. Berron was well aware of this and was working on improving it on our last visit. As Cancun's Intercontinental Airport has grown into a major "Hub", other "international medical services'' flourish there, it has become an important industry for Quintana Roo & all Mexico. There is a website, and they do answer questions. Rick (M.D., Louisiana)

Dr Joaquin Berron' and Staff-…read more I hired Dr Berron to remove an old "ALL in 4" and place a new one. This would require 3 trips to Cancun. Nov 2024- Trip # 1 would require the removal of the existing ALL in 4 and bone grafts Bone Grafts- I had extensive lower bone grafts done at this clinic. However Dr Joaquin Berron' was not capable of completing them and hired a specialist from outside his practice. The surgeon hired did an excellent job and when my dentist back home took a 3D xray upon my return- he praised his skill Jun 2025- Trip #2. Dr Berron placed 4 implants on the bottom and fitted me for a lower temporary prosthetic. The implants were imbedded into the lower bone at a slant! And the temporay lower was poorly made and a colossal fail. It pinched and didn't fit properly. The day or surgery- I was taken back to my hotel room in pain and he knew this. I was told to give it a chance and he would see me again the next day. Upon arrival the next day which was Thursday morning- it was not any better and I wanted him to remove it and improve it. But he refused- instead he attempted to "grind" it down- while it was screwed down on my lower jaw. Only then did he inform me that he planned to leave town and I would have to wait 5 days to see him again- which would be late the afternoon the following Monday. At that point- I changed my airline flight and flew back to the states the next day and told him I would find someone else.. Upon arrival locally - I made an appt to see my regular dentist. When he looked at the recent xrays he was shocked and refused to comment- other then to say "I will keep my opinion to myself" Dr B and myself exchanged multiple emails - and text messages and I have copies of everything I have quoted on this email. I waited 3-4 months to heal and then In Oct I hired another dentist to make the permanent lower and his clinic did a fabulous job. In closing- I will add this. Dr B deserves a 1 star for the inferior job that he did- and for abandoning me and leaving Cancun when he knew perfectly well- it didn't fit and I was in pain because the quality of the prosthetic was so poorly made. But I didn't, I left a 2 star because his staff is exceptional! I regret going to his clinic and I would never ever hire him again

My consult was with Dr Alberto Ortiz who is very kind and patient, answering all of my questions and following up with emails. After consulting with my MD, she advised me against stem cells. I decided to go with a different therapy... *Unknown to me the product we used was also developed by Dr. Gonzalez in his American lab and uses the SAME CELL LINE as what is used at Rehealth. This was told to me by Dr Gonzalez himself.* Needless to say, the treatment did not go well and led me down a rabbit hole of research I should have done prior to receiving this treatment. For anyone considering this clinic (or any of Dr. Gonzalez's products) I leave this review for you so that you don't make the same mistake I did. If you Google Dr Gonzalez you will find he spends a lot of time promoting his clinic, doing podcasts, radio shows, YouTube interviews, etc. He networks with "wellness influencers" (aka quacks) who have large followings on social media. One of these is Dr Daniel Pompa, who is frequently featured on Rehealth's IG account. He's currently serving 16 years of probation for stealing $1.4 million from a trust fund. Dr Gonzalez has also been associated with John Kosolcharoen of Liveyon who partnered with Rehealth's pediatric sister clinic World Stem Cells Clinic. He was previously involved in a Ponzi scheme and was also arraigned on federal charges for health care fraud. His business partner, Alan Gavick (a podiatrist) had his license put on probation due to medical malpractice. Their company Liveyon put about a dozen people in the hospital due to contaminated products. These are the people that Dr. Gonzalez does business with. When I spoke to Dr Gonzalez regarding my poor response to his product he came across as caring and sympathetic even asking me to send him bloodwork. I was surprised and did exactly as he asked. His only response was a list of referrals to his "pricey" (in his words) colleagues. There was no acknowledgement of the bloodwork I sent. After what I spent on his product I have no money left to spend on his quack friends. One thing you will notice is that when these treatments fail (or make you sick) it is never their fault. It's you or something you did. Your diet, your bad habits, your doctor etc. They will happily take every last dime you have and, when things go wrong, blame you. (I also want to mention that their doctors are rather young and that the treatments are not customized for your condition. They simply give you IVs/injections of stem cells and send you on your way). I would take any "patient testimonials" with a grain of salt. This clinic has "investors" and my guess is that many of the "patients" featured on their IG account are financially invested friends and colleagues of Dr. Gonzalez who are exchanging glowing reviews for free treatments. Most recently he treated a radio personality at Rehealth and was then featured on his podcast. How convenient. I really hope my review saves someone their time, money and health. I wish I would have known all of this before spending all my money and ruining my health. You can get much better treatment at a more experienced clinic for a lot less. Save yourself the trouble and heartache.
