The Good: I assume is still very good my parents had 2 reclining chairs that they had for over 30 years. The Bad: We just bought a reclining sofa that's 2 weeks old and we noticed that both reclining seats didn't recline all the way. We went to La-z-Boy in Temecula where we bought it and they gave me there customer care phone number. I called and they scheduled a technician to come on Dec. 18th. between . 12 & 3pm. Then they changed the time to between 3 & 6pm. Then they change one more time to between 6 & 8pm. After all that BS THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. La-Z-Boy is actually the best furniture I have purchased in my long life of home furnishings. The sofas and chairs are comfortable and hold their shape for years. However, I have one caveat about their business model. They promise any structural repairs are free for the life of their furniture. This is a blatant lie. We recently had two springs burst through the back of our six year old recliner. We called La-Z-Boy and were reassured the repair would be free. Why do people buy more expensive furniture from a brand name store ie: Lazy Boy ? I bought a sofa and loveseat from Lazy Boy because I was told it was "Better quality! Lasts longer!" Not true!! It took 3-4 weeks to get it and I wasn't happy from the start. The padding is really thin on the sofa arms! I can feel the sharp wood corners every time I sit down. My sofa is now 2 1/2 years old so it is not under warranty, but I lost that time to the Covid lockdowns!!! Now the springs on the right side of the couch need retying; my sofa is saggy and very uncomfortable!! And they're only going to charge me $160.00 PER HOUR to fix it!! I tried to use my warranty and it was declined due to "accumulation". The sales associate assured me it would be covered no matter what. I am going to start this review by saying that I am a disabled proud Marine . I spend most of the day on my recliner With ice And heating pads . It is very important for me to be comfortable due to my injuries from the Marine Corps . I went in this last Tuesday and bought a recliner from La Z boy in Temecula . After I brought it home and sat on it I felt it was making my condition worse and was not as comfortable as I thought. I called on Saturday 4 days after I bought the chair and spoke to a manager named Ruth. She told me that they had a 3-day return policy and the only thing I would be able to do would be to exchange it. There weren't any other chairs in there that would work for my circumstances do to the pain and injuries. Most stores have a 30-day return policy. She pointed out to me that I signed the paperwork that says I could only return it within 3 days. I guess I overlooked that and when I told her about my situation she said there wasn't anything that they would be able to do for me. She said corporate has nothing to do with returns and she would not give me the name and number of her manager. I'm letting you know this because I think it was a terrible business decision on their part not to help this disabled proud Marine just because it was one day over the policy. I personally will never shop there again and will let as many people as ​ know. You can clearly see by the 2.2 Stars that they have on this Yelp app that they are not doing a very good job. We recently moved to the area and needed family room furniture and kitchen table for our new home. Lazy-boy in Temecula had an amazing designer, Kim Franzen who assisted us in finding the perfect furnishings for the two rooms. She selected items we would never have put together and even my husband loved the selections. Her service was stellar!!!! The deliveries were made in 2 separate trips due to the time delays with the items made by lazy boy factory, couch and chairs. All products purchased from other manufacturers were sent timely to the store but the lazy boy pieces were 4 to 6 weeks beyond the quoted timeframe which was frustrating as the rooms sent empty for over 10 weeks. I'd be very hesitant about purchasing furniture from Lazy-Boy again if delivery times were critical. The delivery teams of Bairon and Adan and Lustevo and Sergio should be applauded as they were very considerate and complete on the setup and removal of packaging. I am writing this review in regards to a sofa and loveseat that I recently passed down to my daughter. I believe I purchased this set in 2009 and spent $2000. As I was cleaning it and getting it ready to take to thee place, there was a certain sadness, as I have loved this set for years. I have raised all six of my Grandbabies and it has endured much much wear, from parties, and swimming guests, that come in from the pool, wet. I flipped both pieces over and took the back rests off for ease of loading into our truck. I noticed the way these pieces were built, and was even more distraught that I would be giving away what I say, had been the best set I've owned. The frame from what I could see, was solid steel. This couch should undergo a reupholstering rather than buying new. I don't know if Lazy Boy has changed their frame and the quality but I've never had any issues and look forward to finding my next set. I'm hesitant, as all the reviews I've read aren't good at all. I'm giving LazyBoy 5 stars for a purchase from over 10 years ago. They deserve it. I will update in the next few weeks. I hope I have a positive experience. read more

Bought a recliner for tall people 5 years ago and it finally broke. When it was new it made creeking noises. The service guy replaced the motor which seamed to work fine. He said noise was just fabric rubbing and would eventually go away. It never did and only got worse. They should have use steel for framing like most other expensive recliners. It's not Brought my client to buy a leather loveseat- and was told one was already made and we would get it within 60 day. After 6 months we got tired of all the lame excuses and cancelled the order- they had the nerve to charge a restocking fee even though it was never delivered. Found the exact same item in stock at Mathis Bros in Indio and for $800 less!! I don't know what is going on at La-z-boy but I would never go to any of their stores after this. When we came into the showroom today, we were thankful that we were not bombarded with salespeople. They were having their early Black Friday VIP sale this weekend and we were looking for a couch & loveseat. We bought a sectional from this store over 6 years ago and we loved it. It was sturdy, well-made, and extremely comfortable. Since moved & downsized we had to sell it and hated to do so but we had no room for it. This year we are expanding our little place now that the permits have been approved after a year long delay due to the pandemic. We were able to walk around the showroom to check out the various sets. The customization options are impressive. There's a variety of fabric, leather, manual/ electric reclining along with electric headrest feature from which to choose. When we finally settled on the "Brooks" style, Pattie, a very nice salesperson came over to us see if we had been helped. We told her "no" and she quickly apologized. It was very obvious they were short handed and we totally understood. It gave us the time to make a solid decision. We proceeded to tell her which set we wanted and she helped us select a soft, gorgeous, upgraded fabric. We also wanted all the electric options for reclining including the headrest. She told us it would be about a 7 month lead time, which is perfect! We had a very friendly discourse as she was drawing up paperwork to get our set ordered. They were offering 36 month financing for purchases over $6,000.00 or 50% down. Pattie found out we were former military; I'm an Air Force retiree and gave us a military discount on top of the VIP sales price! That was a nice surprise that saved us even more. We left very happy and appreciated all of Pattie's time, attention, professionalism, and great customer service. We look forward to receiving our couch/ loveseat & seeing Pattie again! read more

I purchased 2 recliners and 2 battery packs in Sept. 2022. Although the batteries were supposed to be new, they weren't but I was told that they recently passed inspections,{ on both batteries there is a sticker that says passed} I called the store where I made the purchase and was told I had to call customer service. The first time I called customer service I was in hold for 46 minutes then I got disconnected, The second time I called I was on hold for 38 minutes when an agent answered. I explained my problem and in 10 minutes he changed his story two times, I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were gone for the day and to call back the next day. The next day I called, and after being on hold another 15 minutes they gave me an option for a call back which I took. The call back came the next day and I spoke to another agent. She said yes, there was indeed a problem and she would have to contact the warrantee dept. and she would call me back; that was 3 days ago. In the meantime I went on the laz-y-boy website and left 2 messages with them, still no contact. I've been using laz-y-boy recliners for over 15 years. We recently moved from northern ca. to southern ca. In northern ca. if I had a problem it was taken care of. I don't know if customer service is different down here but if it is, I will think twice about buying anything from laz-y-boy ever again. read more

I purchased an electric sectional sofa back in Feb. 2021, armed chair, coffee table, and two end tables. Almost $9k for all of it. It took 4 months to be delivered. Upon delivery the chair and sofa were damaged on the wooden legs. We didn't have it repaired as my husband could do it himself but it's still damaged because he doesn't have the time to fix it. But the leather fabric on the chair seams are ridiculously uneven. The sofa is the same way. The seams are off, with bulging on the back. In the last 2 1/12 years the couch looks so uneven on the trim. The coffee table has not held up well, either. The wood has chipped off and has to be fixed now too. This should have been quality furniture, that should last, but 2 1/2 years and all of it has issues. If I wanted cheap furniture, I had plenty of other stores to choose from. I'll never recommend this place to anyone. DO NOT BUY FROM LA Z BOY. You will waste your money on cheap junk. read more

Buyers beware! We have recently filed a case against La Z Boy furniture in Small Claims Court because they refuse to refund our almost $3,000 deposit on a sofa. We noticed on our 3rd day after ordering, that it was not what we had ordered (per e-mailed diagram from store) along with it being too large for our room! They thought that we should accept what we didn't want or had ordered! They refused to give our money back, stating it was a restocking charge, when in actuality, it is a way they steal your hard earned money, it should be called what it is, an extortion fee. They claimed it was already under construction, which was total BS. especially when we were told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get it. You don't treat your customers this way, you don't hold them hostage to buy their products, especially ones you didn't order and won't fit in your home! This is no way to run an ethical business! As of today I've had no response to my email from last Friday 3/10/23. I called your customer service yesterday and after waiting on hold for over 45 minutes only to reach a very rude representative. We had a chair delivered a week ago that has no padding on the side panels, making the frame imprint show, uneven seams and very soft cushion. The rep I spoke to yesterday said they would only replace the side panels. This is not acceptable!! I went to the store to speak to the manager, he wasn't in and was told he call me. Especially from the person I dealt with. Linda knew how to make someone feel non existent and ignored... i would send messages because she messed my account up and eventually she would reply. She blamed Synchrony Bank for the issue I had (false charges pending on my account due to her rerunning my purchase with a price difference I caught) but Synchrony said its the merchants issue. Instead of the 2-3 week delivery time, I waited over 4 months for coffee and end tables. I called 4 times to speak to Linda and didn't receive return calls. When I finally tracked her down she was all bubbly and happy sounding as she informed me of another new ship date. Seems they book orders knowing to string customers along just to keep the order. Furniture came in with small scratches and it took 2 weeks to have someone come out to fix the problem. Linda has to be La-Z-boy's most inept store manager. Do not buy from Lazy Boy. I bought a electric power lift recliner 8 months ago that now is not working. It took them a week and 2 days to come and look at it. The remote control is not working, he said he would order a new one and it would take 6 weeks to get one. On Monday they had no record of a technician even being there. I have spent hours on the phone (many of them on hold) to get this expidited which they are unable to do. I can't believe first of all that a chair I paid $1500 for broke after 8 months, and the service to get any thing done about it is poorer than poor. This chair was purchased for a friend who is totally bedbound except for having someone lift her into this chair. The time to wait to get it fixed is unreasonable in my opinion. Very disappointed. The chair arrived broken on last Friday. I did not catch the problem until I sat in it and moved the handle. The chair made a loud "crack" noise. I spent two hours this morning on hold waiting "for the next available customer service specialist" but was unable to contact anyone. Nobody answers at the store. Maybe they are out of business. I sent an email to the company but of course nobody answered. So I spent a lot of money for a chair that I cannot use and paid for an extended warranty that is useless. I feel like I have been ripped off. I finally got ahold of the store. They told me that I have to contact the corporate office of the warranty company and negotiate a repair directly with that company. In other words, buyer beware. I threw away my estimate for my order after being treated poorly on the phone when I asked if I could get a lighter colored stitching on my 2 custom order, leather chairs. I was just asking if a manager or she could make some more phone calls to see if it was possible. I know she made one call. But I've been in sales, too and know, sometimes you have to ask the right person or push a little more for special requests. I would even be willing to pay more for this, but we never even got to that option. She instead, responded harshly with, "Why would I lie to you?!" I was shocked, she responded like this. A better response would have been...let me work on it some more today and see what I can do. Or I will give this to my manager to see what she/he can do. Or, let me find out which colors DO come with light stitching and get back to you....ANYTHING else, would have been better! As a result, I am not interested in going back and won't ever be shopping at La Z Boy again. I would never respond to a customer like that! Another issue I have is that I actually asked to speak to a manager when I called, so I was pretty disappointed when they instead put my original salesperson on the phone with me. Perhaps, if they would have gotten a manager, like I asked, this would have been avoided. UPDATE: the manager saw my review and called me. I was actually surprised. She did a pretty good job explaining how their ordering worked and how it isn't actually special orders. I would have preferred she lead the conversation with apologizing for the rude employee, but i was still grateful for the call. She offered to show me a different leather chair that I can get in the light stitching. Which is exactly what should have been offered to me by the employee! So good job manager! Today, the furniture was delivered by two of the most friendly and helpful gentleman. We were kept aware of delivery time and status. What happened to La-Z-Boy furniture? Their customer service is atrocious. I purchased thousands of dollars of furniture from them, as their customer service and warranties were great, in the past. So, I filed a claim 2 years ago on. A chair that was over 2,000 dollars retail. They charged me 140 dollars for the visit,but the rep said the leather was defective and they would replace it. Being the chair was less than 2 years old, I was willing to pay the 140. The rep came back out with a tiny sponge and a tiny bottle of dye. He apologized and said his "higher ups" told him to fix it with the dye. Clearly he felt bad. I called them back recently, and their response was, we already replaced the leather. I informed them, they should have, but they didn't. They asked a file another claim. 30 days later, its worse! read more

On 10/17/19 I went to the La-Z-boy furniture store in Temecula, CA to purchase two recliners. My wife and I had previously determined the model and color so all that my intent was to make the purchase. Upon arriving a sales representative was supervising the offloading of a delivery truck. After waiting for a period of time, during which other customers had arrived, I asked if the offloading of a truck was more important than writing an order. To my surprise the sales representative said yes and that I could either wait or come back later. This lack of business acumen and common courtesy was so astonishing that I felt compelled to call the corporate headquarters and share my experience at the Temecula store. The corporate office was understanding and offered a discount as compensation for the poor treatment. Upon returning to the store on 10/18/19 I completed the purchase and left a deposit totaling 50% of the purchase price. The lead time on the furniture was six weeks. On 11/27/19 I received a call from the La-Z-boy store and was informed that the furniture would be delivered within the next few days, however, payment in full was required. The store was demanding payment in full or the furniture would not be delivered to the store. Never have I been denied seeing the product I was purchasing until payment in full was received. On 11/27/19, Roger Dix, Marketing Mgr. for Southern California called and stated that he would prefer that I shop elsewhere and that my credit card payment would be refunded. Succinctly put, that never happened. On 12/31/19 I called the corporate headquarters again demanding either a refund or the furniture. Furthermore, I demanded a response by close of business. Succinctly put, that didn't happen. On 1/1/2020 Terri Monroe, the store manager in Temecula called and asked for my credit card number to affect the refund. Her rude and condescending attitude made it clear she just wanted to get the credit card number and get off the phone. I was getting the bums rush. Disgusted with Ms. Monroe's attitude and the overall mistreatment I received at La-Z-boy I informed that I would contact the corporate office, give them the credit card number and once again share the complete lack of courtesy I experienced in the Temecula store. She said fine and hung up. In closing, I would like to share that I deliberately sought to purchase from La-Z-boy because their recliners are made in the USA. However, this was one of the most abusive and unsatisfactory retail experiences I have ever had. It is my intent to write a letter to the CEO sharing the events of this attempted purchase. Needless to say, there are many other furniture stores and I recommend patronizing any of them as opposed to La-Z-boy. read more
