Apparently the waiter heard me speaking English and asked if we needed English menus. My girlfriend answered in Spanish that I did but she didn't. She did the speaking for us, since I don't speak Spanish. We ordered our entrees and malbec, and as we waited, we were puzzled: we could hear him offering detailed descriptions of what we assumed were specials to everyone else. We weren't told of anything, not even what the fish of the day was. This was a little disappointing. The food came and it was okay. Very average. We didn't see the waiter again for a long time (but we continued to hear new customers get told about off-the-menu items. Finally, he returned and asked if we wanted dessert and we just asked for the check. It was a strange experience and we wondered if we were just treated like tourists and not taken seriously.
