Visiting my hometown of Augsburg after a long time living in CA, USA now I can say this place is just wonderful. Eating some delicious Italian food actually cooked by Italian chefs and some of the staff Italian themselves brought back so many memories what I was used to before leaving Germany. When you first walk through a short passage there it is, almost invisible to the busy street where it is located. There you see some nice tables in a cozy yard then you walk up the stairs lovely carpeted in red it makes you feel you're being welcomed in a stylish manner. The beautiful restaurant inside you can see and feel it must've been at one time in the past a luxurious Villa in the center of the city. Tables with white table cloths, nicely folded white fabric napkins. What I really appreciated was that the background music was nice mellow modern Italian music not like this corny old fashion typical folklore tunes they play in the U.S., if they bother to play Italian music at all. The whole room just makes you realize how much history is in the building. Just wonderful. When I was seated by a very polite staff member, he brought over a nice sized blackboard with the specials written on. Besides the menu I had received first. The whole experience at that moment makes you feel so welcomed. With a traditional European class. The entire service was impeccable. I ordered some sparking water as most of us Europeans like it. Even when I asked if I may have some ice, no problem. A glass full of ice cubes and a spoon to transfer them into my glass with my water. I ordered carbonara, one of my favourites and it came with some sort of bowl shaped like cracker bread. Lovely. I was so pleased to actually get to eat a carbonara with raw eggs prepared like it is supposed to be. It was delicious! With it I ordered a wonder side salad. A nice portion and the true Italian way, they brought a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. So I can prepare it the way I like it. That is what I always remembered and appreciated. No offers of all kinds of dressings. Plain simple and uncomplicated! After my meal I had some nice strong espresso and a one of a kind delicious tiramisu. I must say, so far on my vacation to my hometown, this was one of the very good places to go to eat. I can highly recommend it. Dankeschön a die Angestellten und Chef. As this is an italian resturan, this just went wrong. The pizzas taste like they came out from the freezer. Tasteless and disgusting.

I ordered the saltimboca. It was really salty pork. Very delicious too. The tiramisu was way over the top delicious. The restaurant staff does not speak much english or Italian. read more
