"Thinking Inside The Box" by Sacha Sosno
Built in 2022, La Tête Carrée was designed by French sculptor Sacha Sosno. Sosno worked with and was influenced by celebrated local artists, such as Henri Matisse and Yves Klein.
It is such an unusual building, literally a square/cube head with a mouth and chin resting on a pair of natural looking shoulders. At the time that it was built, it was the first inhabited monumental sculpture in the world. Today, it serves as the central library in Nice.
At night, apparently, it is illuminated, and you can see the stacks of books. Very interesting and unique architecture in Nice. read more
