Upon arriving at our hotel the Villa Athena, we made a Reservation at this restaurant.Upon sitting down you were looking out at the temple of Concordia which was absolutely stunning. We were properly addressed by the maître d' and we're giving our menus and wine list. The wait staff was excellent and explaining any questions we had regarding the menu. The wine list was moderately extensive for restaurants in Sicily. The maître d' was very helpful and professional inhelping us pick a wonderful wine. The appetizer of snails was a reasonable size, and prepared perfectly. My wife had the lobster dinner, and I had the pasta with octopus. The food was prepared perfectly and served in a very timely manner. The meal was not rushed, which is very appreciated as we arrived as one of the last reservations of the evening. There was a wonderful piano player which only added to the ambience. This is truly fine dining experience not to be rushed. Unfortunately there was an Extremely rude table behind us that was both loud and obnoxious and their complaints about the pace of dining. These are the people that give tourists a bad name. It is a well-known fact that dining in Sicily is a process that should be enjoyed and not rushed. These people would have been best served at a McDonald's.This is certainly not a cheap restaurant but one that is well worth the price and time. I highly recommend it. read more
