Whether it be at a specialist afro hairdressers or somewhere else, most places never seem to get it right, and I've had quite a few near misses! I'd heard about Tayo hair and beauty quite a while ago, but because it's tucked away off the main street, I always seemed to forget about it! However last week I was in desperate need of a good trim after having my hair braided for a couple of months, so I set off to find Tayo and I'm so glad I did! Luckily I managed to get a walk in appointment, as they had a bit of space. The first thing I noticed was how amazing the place smelled, there was an oil burner on and it smelt gorgeous, very relaxing. Will, who cut my hair was fantastic, and knew exactly what to do. He advised me on what I need to do with my hair to help it grow and keep it in good condition, which was great, as I've been to so many different hairdressers over the years that have given me conflicting information or tried to sell me products which have just ended up being no good for my hair. I met his little boy who was really sweet and had a very similar curl pattern to mine, so I knew I was in good hands! As well as Afro Hair, Tayo also specialise in Asian and European hair, and do braiding, extentions, weaves, treatments (and also beauty treatments such as eyebrow tinting, manis/pedis etc) I'd highly recommend Tayo to anyone. *20% off your first cut - bonus!

To say she made me look amazing is an understatement, she has transformed my face. Make-up stayed untouched for the whole day, even though I got kissed a lot and cried like a baby during the wedding ceremony! At the same time, it didn't feel any heaviness at all. My Mum never wears makeup and is allergic to all sort of cosmetics, and yet Jana managed to really make her look and feel beautiful and natural, magic! Both me and my mum got tons of compliments on the day! Best spent money ever! Jana helped me with the choice of make-up and hairstyle, and she also arranged the decorative hairpins to finish off the look. She's been great with the communication and has been upfront on any costs. If I could I would give Jana a 100 stars - she is worth double her weight in gold (and yet her services are very reasonably priced). You could not ask for a better person for the job. Incredibly SKILLED, HONEST, RELIABLE and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would recommend Jana to anybody for any occasion!
