If you want something a bit more authentically French than McDonalds, but you don't want to pay too…read moremuch, you could do worse than head to Flunch. It's a bit like a self-service school canteen ! There's a selection of meals, you help yourself to starters, drinks, desserts and choose what you want to go with your meat/fish. The menu is pretty basic (steak & chips, fish & veggies, etc) but it's cooked nicely enough and it's cheap. Can get a bit noisy but it's great with the kids.
